Is this a no body murder charge?

Michael's body has not been recovered. AFAIK the murder charge wouldn't specify 'no body'. Still first-degree murder.

I haven't followed this one. Does anyone have any idea what the Wondras motive to harm little guy would have been?

Came here to say this- I didn't follow at the time and am now super confused. So these people were neighbors to Michael's family? What would have been the logic behind taking his life, or at least alleged logic at this time? I Googled and only got more confused :P

Finally hope this family gets answers

We may never know the motive, or even cause of death, unless they confess. My guess is that it was SA. 😞

I always thought maybe they accidentally hit him whilst driving recklessly or they had things to hide and covered it up.
Seems a few of them acted collectively and that's pretty unusual since it wasn't overtly a planned crime. JMO MOO
Devastating for the parents :( and I guess we'll only find out when the case goes through the courts.

Am familiar with Michael's case but I thought they were looking closer to home back when he vanished.
Looks like a neighbor took advantage when Michael was outside playing ?
Imo.
Rest in peace, little 'Monkey'.
Hope the family gets answers.

Sexual assault, IMO. They saw an opportunity to grab a vulnerable child, there was no accident where he was struck and they panicked. I'll never believe that. The four of them will all point the fingers at each other.

Police in 2022 announced Stacey Wondra, his ex-wife Sarah, and two other individuals Brandon Shurtliff and Adrien Lucienne, were suspects or persons of interests in Vaughan's disappearance.

Before now, the last breakthrough in the case was more than two and a half years ago when crews used heavy equipment to dig up the Wondra’s backyard.

Police said they had credible information from someone living in the Wondra's house the young boy's body was there. Cadaver detection dogs alerted to human remains, but none were found.

Sarah Wondra was originally charged with failing to report a death in November 2022 in connection to the boy's disappearance, but the charge was dropped that spring.

Fruitland Police Chief JD Huff told KTVB he still believes Michael was buried in the Wondra's backyard and was later moved.

Yeah I'm aware of that.

During his four-minute Arizona court hearing Friday, Wondra appeared unsure of what to do before agreeing to be extradited.

“I’ve had no way to contact any relatives or anybody or legal counsel to ask a recommendation of what I should do,” he said to Commissioner Elizabeth Campbell, who presided at the hearing.

Stacey Wondra's handwritten Oct 2025 motion for early release from federal prison. Not sure what he was trying to accomplish - did he have a heads up on the murder charge and wanted to make a move? It's a moot point now that he's been arrested. Parking it in here for reference.

It’s clear now, the DA took advantage of the time Wondra was in federal custody to build the case. Have to admit, I was afraid this would be like Kyron Horman and wouldn’t move forward without a body. Whatever evidence they found in 2022 after digging in Wondra’s backyard, must be compelling.

Sarah is a wild card, I wonder if her mental health has been restored? She’s due to be released next year. What was her role in his murder, I guess that’s going to be key.

IMO, they are going to try to get Shurtliff or Lucien to roll over with some sort of plea deal. Bet both are very nervous about now, and I’ll bet LE has eyes on them.

I had just been reviewing old posts and one of yours caught my eye about the DA possibly holding things back. I started thinking maybe SW had been indicted by a grand jury. Wonder what turned the case? Did LE ever buy the $6K piece of evidence they wanted?
