I haven't seen it mentioned where he was living. Just that his last known address was in Arizona & dad (and family) live an hour or so away from where this all went down. (All from the DM article just linked)

His grandfather, Dale Roley, spoke with 4 News Now over the phone Monday morning. He said he had no idea his grandson, Wess Roley, would do something like this.
He said Wess was living in Coeur d'Alene and working for a tree company and trying to get into forestry. He said he hiked in the Canfield Mountain area often.
Dale Roley said he has not heard from Wess's dad and asked the sheriff's office to do a wellness check on him and his wife.

Yes, I meant to say who he was living with. Public records show he lived with his mom in AZ but we know that wasn't his current living situation.It was stated by his grandfather in the MSM article posted above.

My personal reaction is that firefighters are universally seen as Good. The epitome of Goodness, really. And sometimes, psychotic people see themselves as the epitome of Evil and act accordingly.

I live 50 miles from Couer d alene. Some here suspect Neo Nazi act as written about in the article. There are some white supremacist groups around Northern Idaho but then again they are everywhere .seems like a very angry kid. Moo

I am only interested in his living situation in relation to the murders.
Were there any red flags reported by anyone at all ?
A hint as to his plans ?
I'm assuming LE maybe have his phone and laptop/other devices, and are perusing them as we speak.
Very sad that there are young people his age who struggle with terminal illness like cancer & want a chance to live, and this possibly physically healthy young man threw it all away.
If he needed mental help, it's too bad he didn't seek treatment.
Some young people are under their parent's insurance until about mid-twenties.
Imo.

Schizophrenia is a physical disease of the brain, sadly. Of the mental illnesses, it is the one most associated with suicide. AFAIK, everyone who has schizophrenia has at least one of the various genes that cause it. It is inherited (although not everyone with the genes gets schizophrenia - if they can get to about age 30 without onset, they are likely not going to get it).
Similarly, there are genes that cause a predisposition to cancer.
Schizophrenia is a very painful illness, hence the many suicides. Suicide is more common in younger schizophrenics, who are completely overwhelmed by the disease and usually unmedicated. I remember one of my profs saying, though, that anyone who is willing to kill themselves is already in major tabu breaking territory and are far more likely to harm others as well (hence so many extensive suicides, which this likely is).
