Maybe the people of Boise could get this "OPERATION RETURN HOME" started there in Robert's name.

Operation Return Home is a new tool that will help locate missing children and adults when the criteria of an AMBER ALERT is not met.

This Operation Return Home began in honor of Ivan Cano in Lousiville KY because they did not issue an Amber Alert when he went missing because "it did not meet the criteria"!!!

Here is their link.

Snips:

1. The man whose Boise home and yard were being searched Friday night for evidence related to Robert Manwill's disappearance says he knows the 8-year-old's family but has no idea what may have happened to him.

1a. If it's going to help anything, do it," Wallis said. He said he knows Robert's mother and her boyfriend but is much closer to the boyfriend's brother, David Ehrlick. "I'm innocent. I'm an innocent bystander." [my comment - this person seems to feel that the Ehrlick family may well be capable of some criminal activity. He doesn't say, "This family is innocent" or "I know these people and they are kind, innocent persons"...contrarily, he seems to want to divorce himself from anything related to the Ehrlick family].

1b. On Friday, police said they had discovered "suspicious circumstances," and as night fell authorities were searching Wallis' backyard.

1c. Wallis said the police were digging up his backyard after bloodhounds picked up a scent at his house. He said his black-and-gray Chevy Suburban was stolen July 22 after someone came into his house and took the keys. [Comment - Wallis doesn't indicate that someone "broke" into his house which causes me to believe that someone in the Ehrlick family had keys to the home already]

1d. When officials investigated, he told them of his connection to the Ehrlick family."I mentioned that I know these guys. I've met the little boy," Wallis said.

2. "It makes me sick to know this is going down at my house right now," he said. "I didn't do nothing back there. I'm not going to say for the record nothing's back there because I don't know. Maybe something did happen along the lines when I was out of town." [Comment - this strongly indicates that Wallis has no problem seeing someone in the Ehrlick family being capable of committing this crime]

3. This one troubles me a whole lot...

Ehrlick Sr. said he used to pick up Robert at his father's house in New Plymouth and bring him to Boise. He teared up as he discussed the missing child while smoking a cigarette in his front yard.

Ehrlick Sr. and his youngest son, David, told a story of a boy that was constantly in trouble with his mother for the pettiest of infractions. David Ehrlick said that Robert was not allowed to go outside and play during a recent birthday party.

"It was scary around her with her children. Robert would get in trouble for everything. It didn't matter if it was asking a question, he'd get grounded. He'd have to sit on his hands," said David Ehrlick. "He's just a little boy."

Last comment - there are a ton of other questions and concerns that arise upon reading this news story, but I thought I'd break it off here because I'm not even sure that all of this information has been already covered and processed.

Here's a video I just found while posting some new articles for the Lily Burk case....I think it is wise for every parent, grandparent, Aunts & Uncles etc. to review this with all children from little ones to young adults heading out to college!

VIDEO: 'Stranger Danger' Talk Grows Up
Young children may know not to talk to strangers, but older kids need to know the risks too. College students will head back to campus soon, and after news of an attack on a student outside a Los Angeles law school, the "stranger danger" talk is growing up.
http://www.keloland.com/videoarchive/index.cfm?VideoFile=073009safety

Here's the link to the article....though we know from what LE has said Robert was not abducted by a stranger....I wanted to share this with all of you.

One other thing that I noticed in the above stories from Idahostatesman.com:

Charles Manwill, 38, a staff sergeant in the Idaho Army National Guard. Charles Manwill took custody of Robert in January 2008 when Jenkins said she was having complications with a pregnancy.

My comment - Charles Manwill seems to be a respectable individual, and nothing from the videos that I have seen would set me off of that concept. His record seems to be very respectable.

Daniel Ehrlick Sr., a former Marine who served in Vietnam, said he thought he saw Robert on the day he was reported missing when he stopped by Ehrlick Jr.'s apartment to drop off money to help pay bills.

Ehrlick senior, a former Marine who served in Vietnam, said:

"(Ehrlick Jr.) told me that Robert was down in the back. When I came to the door, I don't know if it was then that I spotted it, or I spotted it before, but I spotted another boy that looked just like Robert with a white T-shirt on," Ehrlick Sr. said.

[My comment - sounds like an honest statement to me, not a lie]

My suggestion relative to the above - I wish to share that some individuals in this family seem to have some respectable credibility (Ehrlick Sr. and Charles Manwill, the dad).

Too bad Melissa and Ehrlick Jr. cannot show the same history. They both have felony records. That is suspect. Thankfully, Robert has other family to share the loss respectfully.

Is this the photo you are referring to? If so, I was interested in just what it was as well, I blew it up, added some contrast, and sharpened it a touch and to me it now appears to be a very amateur bar room type tattoo of some sort. Perhaps other photos are available that shows it more clearly. Good eye, and I'm simply guessing that it is a tattoo.

attachment.php

Perhaps a crude skull??
attachment.php

Just below it, the tatoo.......I suppose it could be hair on his arm....it looks awfully red under the tatoo...probably from the contrast.
Is that from the clip? or a still shot? I still think he's guilty...
But thanks for clearing that up....

Snip from complete comment below (bold, underline, and italics added by myself)

My name is DL [full name in comment link], owner of D.L. INVESTIGATING LLC. here in Boise. We worked on the Rachael Walsh case in Meridian last year, and we offered our services to robert Manwill's mother as well but received no response after numerous attempts. The case in Meridain was done FREE of charge and the Manwill case was also offered at no charge. We wish to help our community in the future by offering all missing persons cases Free of charge, we specialize in these types of investigations and do not want to see this type of thing happen again.

My comment:
Not sure if this has already been posted, but thought it interesting enough to share regardless.

Well no kidding? Wonder why she wouldnt have jumped all over that? If either of my kids or any kids I know for that matter were missing I would have been all over that. FOR FREE EVEN? I would have been searching for anything ...anyone that was willing to help..and been very thankful...
MJ didnt...actions speak louder than words don't they. So sad.

Has anyone seen anything about the ceremony tonight?...I just barely got home from work with the baby and put her to bed. I thought it weird the weather has been cooler dismal and depressing the last couple of days.....tears from heaven. It's supposed to clear up tomorrow I think...
It did that when my best friend was killed too. In August 5 yrs ago.
That is strange.

Community comes together to say goodbye to Robert
Story Created: Aug 7, 2009 at 4:51 PM MDT

<snipped>
Friday night marked two weeks since 8-year-old Robert Manwill was originally reported missing. Hundreds of community members showed up to honor the little boy and say goodbye.

"Robert is our little boy and now he is your little boy," said Trish Burrill, Robert's Aunt, as she addressed the crowd.

A number of Robert's family attended the vigil, thanking the community for everything they have done over the past two weeks.

Dozens of green balloons were released into the air in honor of Robert's favorite color.

"I think everybody grew to love Robert if they knew him or not," said Stephaine Mishler, a Boise resident who helped search for Robert since the beginning.

Many people who attended the vigil said they hoped it would help bring closure to not only the family but also everyone who supported the search effort and let Robert into their hearts.

"We are a strong community and I think tonight will help bring hope that if something happened to another child we would all be there," said Amber Jones, a resident of Boise.

Candles were lite and a moment of silence was heard before the crowd left.

The family of Robert Manwill speak out
August 7, 2009
<snipped>
A vigil was held for Robert Manwill Friday night in Boise. Earlier in the day, Robert's family addressed the public. Despite the latest news that police are calling his death a homicide, his family is sticking together.

The family says, in a way, Robert Manwill is finally home and for the first time since his body was found, they addressed the community.

"We also know that Robert is in your hearts and that you need closure just as we do," says Trish Burrill, Robert's aunt.

With Robert's mom and dad in the background, the family spokesperson offered words of thanks to the police department, investigators, and everyone whose let this little boy into their hearts.

"We as a family have given it much thought and would like you to meet Robert," she adds.

"To lay our sweet loving boy, Robert to rest with God," says Burrill.

Hundreds of teddy bears from Manwill memorial will be donated Saturday
Published: 08/07/09
<snipped>
More than 200 teddy bears that have been left at what has become a makeshift memorial site for Robert Manwill will be taken to the Ronald McDonald House on Saturday, according to the Boise couple who set out the first trio of teddy bears after the 8-year-old went missing July 24. The personal letters, photos and other items left in tribute to Robert will go to his family.

With each passing day, the number of teddy bears grew. Visitors left other items, including photos, cards and candles. It became a gathering spot for nightly vigils, with many lighting candles.

Gina Guzzetta-Dalrymple, 36, felt so moved to watch over the site — and keep the candles burning — that she decided to sleep in a tent next to it.

"I wanted to make sure the vigil stayed safe and secure," she said.

At about 6:45 p.m. Thursday, her third night watching over the site, Guzzetta-Dalrymple was arrested by police and taken away in handcuffs. :furious: She was booked into the Ada County Jail on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for failure to appear in court. She posted bond and was out by midnight.

Guzzetta-Dalrymple said she is really angry about getting arrested.

"There's only a homicide (investigation) going on. Let's go after me," she said Friday. She said she planned to camp out again at the site Friday night.

The family needs to be particularly careful of everyone trying to insert themselves into this case. We only need to look as far as the Anthony case to realize that things which come for "free" can often have a hefty price tag in the long run. It is possible it was discussed with others and decided not to be a good idea. Less than professional PIs, So-called Psychics, and others prey on victims' families all the time in order to get their fifteen minutes and/or free advertising in the media spotlight.

Or...she didn't want people checking out herself and her man.

Im going to guess this was all the Aunts setting up. Mom is apparently staying at a motel and they have taken her computer and her car. Something tells me she didnt walk to the library to take place in this. I suspect the Aunt did the entire thing.

Have we confirmed anywhere if this Aunt is her sister or Charles Manwill's sister? I know its always been assumed that its her sister, but I have never seen anything certain

It seemed to me that I saw a photo with their names and relationships to Robert and I think the Aunt is the Father's sister? I'm pretty sure that's what I read but I could be wrong.. Anyone else know?

You're right about that..but still in the begining..provided you weren't guilty of the knowledge or the death of your kid...wouldnt you have taken what help you could? I would have.

Not without checking out their past history, their credentials, and taking a careful look at why they want to help. I would be more inclined to approach someone with vast experience and a proven record in that field then ask for their help instead.

Not to get off topic...but
Even though LE has been great with this case ...so far anyway... and I don't mean to sound like an ungrateful jerk...
But that is typical of LE around here. They wanna pack our jails full. More revenue for the state.
But they will let all these sex offenders and when i say ALL I mean A lot run the streets without a residence.
When you look at one that says 8200 Barrister Drive..or whatever the address is on Barrister those SEX OFFENDERS are homeless.
You think that there was a lot in the area Robert lived in. That's just one zip code. Mine has even more.
How can a SO not have a residence? Then they should not be out of jail. No place to go? Then you stay incarcerated where you are accounted for.
Now tell me that isn't messed up

Wow...I wish I could have gone. Was the mother or the bf in attendance?

Hundreds of people gathered to remember 8-year-old Robert Manwill on Friday night across the street from Robert’s mother’s Vista Avenue-area apartment. Leonora Porter and her three children wrote a message on a photo of Robert, whose body was found Monday. “We knew him. Robert was our friend,” Porter said. Friends and strangers brought stuffed animals, lit candles and released green balloons — Robert’s favorite color. They ate pizza, meatballs, green cupcakes and ice cream sandwiches, Robert’s “favorite sandwich.”

Boy gets emotional tribute
August 8, 2009
Updated 31 minutes ago
<snipped>
As the sun went down Friday, hundreds huddled in a Boise to pay tribute and say goodbye to slain 8-year-old Robert Manwill.

Emotions grew high and candles burned brightly as families gathered near the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Cherry Lane and Shoshone Street.

Some wore green ribbons and ate green cupcakes while holding the same shade of balloons in honor of the New Plymouth boy's favorite color — even the candleholders were green.

Neighbor recalls boy
Neighbor Tori Oldroyd, who attended the vigil with her husband, Craig, said she saw the young boy the same day he disappeared:

"It matched up exactly with the time on the reports," she said.

"We have a puppy and I was outside with the puppy when Robert yelled back to his friends that (he) couldn't stay."

Holly Sheffield of Boise said she grew up with Robert's mother and felt she should pay her respects, coming to the vigil with two of her children and her cousin, Jeanette Brooks.

"I was amazed at how the community came together to look for Robert. It's sad it takes something this devastating to bring us together, but it's amazing," Sheffield said.

Range of emotions
No suspects have been named in the incident, but Boise Deputy Police Chief Jim Kerns said there is no evidence a stranger abducted Robert.

"I think that when a little kid dies, it brings together an entire community in a different way than when you hear about murders on TV," Pope said. "The scary part I think is that now no one knows, so there is someone who killed a boy out there."

I just have to say, God bless people (or should I say angels on earth) like Gina Guzzetta-Dalrymple for the goodness in their hearts. I think showers and thunderstorms are expected again tonight in Boise; and temperatures in the 50s. I admire those who are trying to protect Robert's shrine. I pray everyone stays safe.

seems she had some outstanding warrants, so the police arrested her... after some time in custody she now plans to resume her watch...

Edited to add: I wish they would arrest the person or people responsible for Robert's death!!!

To be fair, if she had warrants out for her and they came to see why someone was staying there...they didn't have much choice. She is right...it is a homicide investigation and they would be remiss not to run a check on a person who felt the need to "stand guard of the teddy bears". It is very unusual and they were only doing their jobs. I have seen her name a couple of times in this case and while she may be totally innocent, caring, and a lovely person...she still has inserted herself into a murder case.

Question:::: Ehrlick Jr. told him that Robert was down in the back??

Down in the back of what? The apartment complex? Or what is he talking about?

Doesn't know if that's when he spotted IT or spotted IT before...

What is the IT he is referring to?
