Circumstances of Disappearance
Sharon was last seen by her husband the night of 09/27/2021.
She was seen driving her vehicle at a gas station a short distance away.

Sharon is considered endangered due to a medical condition.
She gets lost easily and only knows the immediate roads around her residence.

Coeur d'Alene resident missing and endangered

Sharon Archer, a 62-year-old resident of Coeur d'Alene is missing, and because of her medical condition and how long she's been gone, she's endangered, police say.

Archer was last seen at her house around 5th Street and Locust Avenue on Monday around 10 p.m.

She was driving a white 2013 Toyota Highlander with plate number k562919.

'She may have pulled over for help and found the wrong person' North Idaho family desperate to find missing loved one

A North Idaho family can't help but fear the worst after their loved one seemingly vanished one week ago. They say a brain injury has left her very vulnerable and she hasn't retuned to take important medication.

Chris said his step-father last saw his mother when he went to sleep. When he woke up in the morning and she was gone, Chris says he notified police. He says loved ones began searching and stopped by a gas station near Sharon's home that she would often visit. Chris believes she went to the gas station to try and purchase cigarettes but it was closed.

"They looked at the cameras and did see her at 12:21," he said.

"She didn't have much on her...just her ID and $20," he said. "I believe she may have pulled over for help and found the wrong person."

The family says police have found new surveillance video of Archer at the Exxon at Government Way and Appleway from Sept. 28 then turning onto 4th Street from Government Way. Coeur d’Alene police previous found surveillance video showing Archer pulling into the parking lot of a convenience store at 4th Street and I-90, near her home, on Sept. 28 at around 12:20 a.m. The video shows the store was closed and Archer never got out of her car.

Archer has a history of easily becoming disoriented and not being aware of her surroundings, police said.

Authorities on Saturday located a body inside a submerged vehicle in Fernan Lake last seen being driven by a missing Coeur d’Alene woman.

Sharon Archer, 62, of Coeur d’Alene, was last seen driving the 2013 Toyota Highlander on Sept. 28, according to a Coeur d’Alene Police Department news release. Archer has been missing for almost a month.

Positive identification of the person who was found will not be made until further investigation and after an autopsy by the medical examiner, police said.

I’ve driven over there. Pretty easy to get off the road if you’re distracted or it’s night or you’re unfamiliar with the road. Just my opinion. When I’ve driven over there I keep wanting to look at the lake and have had to catch myself.

CdA Police find missing woman Sharon Archer's car submerged in lake, body found inside

A body was discovered inside a car submerged in Fernan Lake, according to Coeur d'Alene Police.

Police said the car is the same car that missing woman Sharon Archer was last seen driving on Sept. 28.

Coeur d'Alene Police said a citizen noticed an object under the water near the boat ramp.

The citizen fishes from the boat dock daily and told officers he first saw the object last weekend and then again this past Wednesday. The object was only noticeable when the sunlight hit it just right.


After seeing a Facebook post about a search party for Archer, the citizen called the police.

CdA Police said an identification cannot be made on the body in the car until an autopsy by the Medical Examiner.

The family of Sharon Archer wants to thank the community for helping in their search.
