Did they ever test THESE fibers?

http://www.acandyrose.com/01301997warrant.htm

Det. Arndt stated to Your Affiant that she was present and observed a visual examination by Dr. Meyer of the shirt worn by the child. She observed and Dr. Meyer preserved dark fibers and dark hair found on the outside of the shirt

Det. Arndt told Your Affiant that she personally observed Dr. John Meyer examine the vaginal and pubic areas of the deceased, Dr. Meyer stated that he observed numerous traces of a dark fiber.

Is this what you were looking for?

"Later one of our friends, who shall remain nameless, decided to give the Globe a taste of its own medicine. She had Globe editor Tony Frost's home number, which had come from that man's laminated card. Why not give him a call? After all,the editor of such a publication ought to want to talk with one of his fans, shouldn't he?

"At the office?he's supposed to be here at my apartment"
"What?!" (Frost's wife)

Even I find that funny!! Must be UMI too LOL.

I don't find it funny even if I hate tabloids and tabloid reporters, but his wife didn't diserve this. And the timing for having fun wasn't quite right IMO.
I would rather know from S.Stine what the 30 reasons she suspected FW for are.

Hmm, I think (if true) it was aimed at him getting in trouble from his wife. It's to do with people in positions of power (editors of tabloids) concocting stories to make others look guilty, knowing full well that they are untrue. I'd call it a "taste of his own medicine". Sometimes it is justified.

I am rather pissed with those who leaked the stuff to the tabloids.

Speaking of which,I found something new today. It's probably tabloid cr@p but I wanted to know if anyone knows more about this,it IS interesting. And I always thought that if RDI,Archuleta knows more than he's saying.Remember,he also said he suspects a Ramsey friend of being the killer.

6:20 am
The Whites arrived at the house, and joined John Fernie. Rev. Rol Hoverstock came shortly after 7:00am. A tabloid story says the private pilot who was to fly the plane to Michigan, Mike Archuleta, drove by to pick them up as planned sometime after the police arrived, and that John handed him a box containing incriminating evidence, but Archuleta has denied the story. At some point that morning, Fleet White performed a cursory search of the house, including the basement, where it has been said he opened the door to the room where the body was found but saw nothing.

Which officer searched the basement that morning,French?Nevermind.Anyway,I guess that if you are dealing with a kidnapping and you would find an open/broken window, you would find it suspicious or at least put it in your notes right?
Do we know what the officer's recollection re that window was?
It's either the intruder left through it (I personally doubt it) or Fleet opened it (why?) or JR is lying about finding it open and closing it.
What about Arndt notes?Cause almost everywhere it says that JR didn't tell anyone about the window (weird) but there is one TV interview where he says he TOLD Arndt about it (sorry don't recall what interview now).
I mean ,in DOI he says that's the reason he went down in the first place,he remembered the broken window and wanted to check it.Now if so,why didn't he report it after finding it open?

UGHHHHH :waitasec:

I think there are very very few people who would find it either funny OR justified.

Person throws a rock at neighbor's house, breaking a window intentionally. Neighbor comes outside and throws a rock back, breaking the first person's window. Funny? Justified? Nope, just indicates that the second neighbor has mental/emotional/maturity problems leading to lack of good judgement. And quite possibly, UMI. Someone to watch out for, as you never know what kind of stupid, illegal, or downright dangerous thing they might do unexpectedly.

Maybe we should open a poll. Who thinks Susan Stine's actions were funny? Who thinks they were justified? :waitasec:

A bit about tabloid mentality:

What a nuisance, yes. Celebrities have been dealing with them for ages. They can't open their doors without makeup or play with their kids at the park without them ever-present. And it is a way of life, not just a period of time following some "event" that eventually fades away.

In general, most celebrities have learned to ignore it. Most show a good deal of class about the matter. Some who particularly do not like the limelight in their private hours go to greater lengths to avoid it by using decoy strategies, camoflage, or even being polite to the buggers, which seems to work about the best of all.

Of course, then there are the celebrities who do things like assault photographers and have major temper tantrums. Many of us can conjure up the names of some of the worst.

The general public attitude about the few celebrities that exercise this kind of poor judgement is that they are pretty much lowlifes. Water seeks its own level. :twocents:

UGHHHHH :waitasec:

Hi Madeleine, I believe it was the Larry King interview that JR told the detective that he had found the window open. I know that I just re-read a couple of the interviews lately, so it had to be on LKL or Barbara Walters as these are the two that I read.

UGHHHHH :waitasec:

It was Officer French. He found the wineceller door hard to open, never looked up to see the wooden latch, which was easily visible. Now..this was still thought to be a kidnapping. If there was ANY locked door anywhere in the house there might be someone hiding in there- so you break that door down. He failed to do this, and it has been reported that it was his biggest regret, because he was well aware of the ramifications of JB's father finding her. Not only because it contaminated the crime scene, but because it is well known that children reported missing and later found dead in their own home usually died at the hands of a family member. French blew it. Between French and Arndt, they might as well have given up right then as far as solving this crime. And that's pretty much what happened anyway.

The broken window was not noticed by Officer French when he "searched" the basement. (how did he search it? Blindfolded?) JR said he "forgot" to mention it. FW said he noticed it, and JR told him he had broken it himself.
My take on it? JR is telling the truth about breaking it the previous summer. He didn't mention it at first because he thought it really didn't have a part to play in the staging of the crime. BUT when the defense and LS saw the broken window as playing right into the "intruder broke in that way" theory, they sorta downplayed JR's admission, and then the Rs also jumped on that wagon.

Who was the FIRST person to mention the open window anyway? Was it JR?

It's obvious from this photo that it's not that easy to climb out through that window/grate.If someone got out through it (I don't think so) must have left at least some palm prints (even if gloves on) or elbow prints outside at the exit point.

Thanks for the pic Maddy. We don't have too many basements here, so it's kind of hard to picture the window and the grate, but this is very clear. I expect it would be much easier to enter than to exit.

So what's the problem? Kane, Levin and Morrisey were independent figures. It made no difference to them if they were PR's or not.

15 MR. KANE: Well, I am telling

16 you, it is -- is it conclusive in the sense

17 that, that there is something unique about it

18 that could only come from a particular item,

19 then the answer is no.

23 for example, the likelihood of a random match

24 would be 1 in, say, 14 trillion. (for DNA)

Maybe you should give

4 us the numbers on this fiber.

5 MR. LEVIN: There are no numbers

6 on the fiber.

Come on. What other sources did they

18 test? How many other red jackets and red

19 and black jackets did they test? That is an

20 unfair question on the face of it, Bruce.

21 Did they test anything other than that red

22 and black jacket?

23 I mean, they can't have

. We don't even know what

21 other items were tested. We don't even know

22 what the test results are. And I am just

23 very hesitant to have Patsy speculate over

24 something that we don't know whether it is

25 true or not, we don't know what other things

0197

1 were tested, et cetera.

2 That is my dilemma. Let me think

3 about it.

Just keep in mind that this is legal-feagle palaver. At the end of the day, if the tech says "consistent," then you're screwed.

Consistent with how many others that they tested?

These types of legal wranglings can mean the difference between a jail sentence and freedom.

Judge Sotomeyer rejected an inmate's request for the testing of DNA he claimed would prove his innocence. He spent 10 years behind bars. When they tested his DNA, it proved he was innocent and released.

Apples and handgrenades, Fang. Besides, if you want to talk about how the Supreme Court screwed the works in regard to this case, I'm your man.
