If Misty were to lead LE to Haleigh....

  • #81
I agree. Also IIRC LE has asked Ron what took him so long ... implying he left work earlier than we know but did not get home until after 3:20 am.

I also think Ron snuck home to deal with some business and based on Misty's comments his phone was turned off during the operation. Ron then returned to work to clock out and stop by the convenience store to follow the script.

Misty is confused and doesn't know what happened as part of the clean-up so is asking Ron.

It always concerned me, in the time it took from when Ron got home, to hear the news, to calling 911 that Ron did not first search the near neighborhood or was in shock and coming to terms.

In very short order Ron arrived home, Misty called 911 and, TN arrived. It was too quick as if they all already knew and were setting the script in motion but too slick.

I'd have someone calling 911 while I'd be out racing around to see if HaLeigh was left outside somewhere or for a hint of some perp departing.....

Well thought out!!! I agree..

IMO...You are right about it ....odd that Ron, after arriving home, learning Haleigh was gone..he did not search outside, grab flashlights and check the neighbors, yelling her name...not panicked...very odd..

IMO..On the 911 call..he seemed annoyed, angry...with questions on how to describe his missing daughter.....that oddness... again

IMO..When TN arrived, too quickly, dressed, jewelry, LE jacket, large photo, she IMO...was the biggest "OOOPS!!!..of all.....who does that?????

IMO..IN FACT...TN looked..MORE PULLED TOGETHER....that night..for at 3 something in the morning...than in any photos/interviews/..I have seen of her ...since...As you suggest...too s-l-i-c-k.....

So yes...good points cyberborg....

IMO...

not exactly, but if not at PDM the phone would ping off another tower, wouldn't it? :waitasec:

i was actually.... (i am having a hard time with words today...lol) thinking that if he snuck out the night HaLeigh went missing, to do whatever... that he left his phone at PDM while he was gone. (i guess trying to explain how the phone pinged at PDM while he was out sneaking around...)

hope i said this right....lol:banghead:

They say it takes old fashioned detective work to solve a crime and I think that is exactly what Ronald Cummings would have done IF he snuck out of work Monday evening. Leaving his cell phone at PDM Bridge solidifies his alibi. I also think Ron withheld information from Misty so she wouldn't turn him in.

Did you feel like someone had turned on a light switch when you figured this out?

I wonder if LE realized this could have happened when they looked at Ron's phone records or were they fooled by appearances?

IF Ron planned this crime he didn't need anyone's help. Most of the children abducted from their beds are taken by one person. So why are LE pretending they need answers from Misty in order to move forward in HaLeigh's case? It's LE disbelief of what Junior saw that is hindering this investigation.

Junior saw a man dressed in black take HaLeigh which was how Ron was dressed at the Police Station the next morning. Jr knows what Misty was doing and where she was when this occurred. LE are putting it out there that Misty may not have been home but she insists she was. Junior was the last person in the home to see HaLeigh not Misty if she was sleeping.

A simple yes or no from Junior as to whether Misty was sleeping could have cleared Misty 18 months ago so it's LE's disbelief that's the problem. JMO

CHELSEA CROSLIN: I didn’t see him the night that she went missing but I did see him the very next morning in the very early hours, like 6 in the morning, maybe 6:30. We were at the Sherriff’s department. He was wearing like a full jumpsuit. I have heard lately after I was on Jane Velez Mitchell that people say it was a dark blue. I remember it being black. It was a very rough morning that morning and anybody can confuse black with navy blue, just as much as my 4-year-old nephew Junior could. But it was a full jumpsuit, like, because it was cold outside, so from the arms down to the end of the legs and it zipped all the way up the legs up the belly to the neck and he had his black beanie hat on and his boots. Ron was still wearing the whole same outfit that possibly could be the one his son was talking about.

CHELSEA CROSLIN: Yeah, and as far as Junior goes, I mean I played it off with Junior as if it had been someone feeding him something but I saw him that day, I mean literally by maybe noon of the day the search was going on. He had been isolated instantly by the family; they had him in the room playing with the kids to try to keep him away from all the cops. You know because it was hard for him to already wake up in the middle of the night with his sister being gone, they were trying to keep his mind off it you know. So I went in the room and I just needed to hug him you know I needed that feeling because HaLeigh I was just so scared with everything and I went in there and hugged him and he hugged me and he wiped my tear and said “It’s okay Aunt Chelsea” he said “but my sister is missing” and he said “don’t cry my sister is missing” and I said “no we are going to get her back” and Junior said “well the man in black came in and took her and he circled his hands around his face and I kind of smirked a little and I said “no baby it’s okay, don’t worry, who told you that, somebody just said that”. And he said, “no, I saw him”. And Junior is not a liar. I can tell you right now, 4 years old that boy will not lie out of all 6 well we had 8 altogether, I got 3 kids, Tommy’s got 3 kids, and HaLeigh and Junior are the extra two, so that was 8 kids. Out of all of them, who hit who, who started the fight, who spilled the dog food, they would all point at each other but if we called Junior over he would tell us which one did it. Junior is the farthest one from lying. He is a respectful, very polite little boy. And when he said that to me you know it made me sick to my stomach because I believed him. It was too early for anyone to feed that to him and when I went and told my family about it and I told you know when I went outside and told one of the officers that were in the driveway, everybody just blew it off; oh he is a little kid he is going to come up with imaginations.

bolded by me...

If Ron was seen the next day in the jumpsuit and Junior was there also...wouldn't Junior have recognized Ron as the one he saw???......

When they all went to the police station the next day, weren't they all together..Misty Ron and Junior????...then they separated Junior??

I know my answer is a repeat but I'm saying it again: I want to see the dang video of Ron stopping by the convenience store to buy beer and nuts. I want to see what Ron is wearing..............I really, really do.

It is a very old tactic to feign anger and rant and rave if you are cornered with a question that you do not want to answer. IMO, this is exactly what Ron has done. I think that LE needs to get their head out of you know what and stop totally depending on what Misty might say. They need to get off their buffs and do their leg work themselves. Enough is enough, already.

I don't believe I have ever seen that video...Was it EVER seen by anyone???

Here's another thought...Is it described in the police report that responsed to the 911 call what Ron was wearing...or.....could the officer remember/noted what Ron was wearing at the time???..

Yep, I agree LE might "know about Ron" but the question is, are they willing to do anything about it? I've come to the conclusion that they ie., LE is not willing to do anything about it.

If what the witnesses were wearing was ever noted, I don't know. I have not seen any descriptions on any of the reports. As far as I have determined, LE are the only ones to have seen the convenience store video and they aren't telling.

i am so far behind in this thread, but thought of something while catching up.... Do you all remember on the 911 call that Ron was saying where's my F---ing phone, i got better people to call...blablabla...

Well, what if, Ron's phone was still at work for pinging purposes when he snuck (theory only) out and that is why he didn't answer the phone, b/c he left it at work. then when he returned to work his phone was there. All along, making him appear like he was at work and never snuck off. JMO

on a side note, i always though your phone would ping regardless if you answer it or not. Basically (my thought) i thought that the phone would ping no matter what unless it was off. But could be wrong. IDK

ETA-Sorry justus! i always do that, should have finished reading before typing this out....

Just to throw a wrench into the mess, what if someone else had Ron's phone and made all the calls on it? What if Teresa owned all three phones, hers, Rons and the one given to Misty? What if Misty never received the phone back from Ron after he kicked her out? What if Teresa had that phone? What if Misty was using her own phone or one that was left at the MH? I just can't see a boyfriend's mother giving a cell phone back to an ex-girlfriend. I really do not think that the "lovers" were back together, hence the arguing and ranting that night and the multitude of calls that Ron made, after he found out that Misty didn't miss him very much during their spat. I think that Misty wasn't around to babysit that night and did not show up until maybe one of her brothers called her to get her over to the MH.

Agreed ... the Casey Anthony effect. Distract away from the focus of the question by either going into too much detail that loses the thought or ... act innapropriately and throw the questioner off.

Ron was very odd if he truly wanted LE to assist him and get all cars out to search for HaLeigh. It was like a foregone conclusion that someone had 'stole' her and it was too late.

How did Ron know it was too late to set a perimeter and search? He acted like someone who both knew what had happened and it was too late as well as trying too hard to guide the investigation in the direction he wanted.

As another example, Ron's threats to kill the perp if he ever found them was another 'extreme' attempt to distract and set the focus on a perp ... not the family.

If you go back through those first few days and take notes, both Ron and TN are trying HARD to manage this and there are plenty of alarms to the open-minded skeptic.

COSIGN!!

As they say -- [cosign = "word" = I fervently agree.] :)

I think if Misty were to lead LE to Haleigh that sure, she could be believed... bc for one, she'd be leading them to Haleigh. That in itself says to me, "in the know" like nothing else. And anyway, some of the story or extraneous bits could likely be verified or supported somehow. The truth has a way of rearing its beautiful head when given the chance.

During the 911 call, Ron seemed to me to be - what's the word - misdirecting... diverting...

(What fellow poster just now said that she's having trouble with her words? hee

me too)

jinx buy me a coke

gah im old

When the 911 operator asked for Haleigh's DOB he seemed to be stalling by screaming extra obscenely and going evermore nut-bar.

He didnt know his child's birthday.

yikes.

not a federal crime, but yikes.

Even if the date and year escaped him at the moment, it seems that he could have mustered a simple, "She's five" for cryin out freakin loud..

....as I add the obligatory, in my opinion.

Also, let me circumvent any tomatoes destined for my head by prefacing this next comment with a hearty, yes, I know there is no one correct prescribed way to panic when a child goes missing.

However...for me, in my opinion at times, among humans, there can be some general universals and similarities; or if nothing else, there can be some fairly predicatable outcomes based on gathered data.

Whoops nerd alert.

no wonder I cant get a date

When the operator asked, "What was she (Haleigh) wearing?" I found it chilling and odd and freaky and hinky and just plain suspicious as all get-out, that his hostile, volatile response was a bat ship crazy, "I dont effing know! I WAS AT WORK!" albeit paraphrased, but that adequately captures the gist.

True, I may not know either -good grief - especially if it were my spousal-equivalent, aka live-in paramour, aka erotic life partner who presumably dressed the kids in their jammies and tucked them in.

When asked by the 911 lady, I'd probably say (and no Im not the last word on what the "correct" thing to say in a crisis is) but ... BUT.. it would likely be.. for many people... for the average person... for plenty of people..

..(?)

ok im parsing my words here, but it'd probably go something like, "Honey, the lady wants to know what she was wearing" or alternatively and also directed to the other person and perhaps more bluntly, "Hey, what was she wearing?"

But as I reflect on the whole scenario I cant see myself responding to the question of, "What was she wearing" with a irritated, ranting, angry, DEFCON1..."I DONT KNOW !!! I WAS AT WORK!!!" (or an, "I dont effing know! I was at work!" - as the case may have been.)

But just the thought process there seems to point to, me me me... where was I.. me me...

And I still contend that TN was in the home, helped script that pathetic, overacted 911 call, ran them thru a dry run rehearsal, put her 2 cents in on the staging of the door and whatnot, then went down the street or wherever was deemed close but suitable and waited to be, "called" on que.

Sorry all; but I feel this to the nth.

Just me? alrighty then.

Exactly!!!

Why didn't Ron rush over to the Croslin's on Tyler to check HaLeigh wasn't there?

Why didn't Ron race to the river since there had been a prior incident with HaLeigh almost drowning.

Why didn't Ron want to cooperate with 911 and give them the information they needed to respond and search.

Ron wanted LE there NOW but he'd still have to spend time describing what HaLeigh was wearing and her details to LE. That time was best spent during the 911 call so LE could be ready to go as soon as they arrived.

Ron had better people to call ... who? He never called in anyone else. LE were the most important people to talk to ... so why the dramatics?

Sure you can argue that he was distraught and not acting rationally, 'ugly coping' BUT I just see it as 'over-acting' -- that he was both truly grieving over the death of HaLeigh and what had happened as well as trick LE.

I have freaked out but Ron's actions were more the actions of someone trying desperately to set a script in motion and make sure Misty did not screw up ... he was very stressed.

The number one problem I have with Ron is that he did not bother to look for Haleigh. What parent in their right minds would not have been out screaming and shouting, waking all neighbors and searching everywhere especially down near the boat docks for their missing daughter?

BBM: Ron's ranting and screaming about killing the person who "took" Haleigh worked, LE stopped questioning him because they decided that he was not able to talk to them. By Ron ranting and raving, LE did not attempt to question him. It worked.

Okie Dokie, just to answer the Title to this thread I will say this. IMO, Misty can't lead LE to Haleigh's body simply because she does not know where Haleigh's body was buried. I say ask the Neves and the Sykes side of the equation.

I should have clarified this sentiment in my post above.

I, too, agree that Misty has not been allowed to know ( see: loose cannon factor)

But if she did know... well I already said it.
