Often quote that number that in discussions on 'global warming'....since our 'vast' data over 150 years is surely "statistically significant"....

Note: I do think we should be socially responsible...but basing anything on a 30 year trend is delirious in terms of statistics...(hope I don't start something here, or maybe I do ..tee hee)

I'm not an expert, but I think we have temperature records that go back somewhat farther than 150 years (though still just a fraction of the planet's history). We get the temps from tree rings, ice core sampling, etc. and so forth. And we can test the "greenhouse effect" without going back in time.

That being said, I don't know if scientists are right about man-made global warming. But I do know that the steps necessary to reduce our carbon footprint will also reduce our dependence on foreign oil, stretch our finite supplies of fossil fuels, reduce harm to other species, and generally improve the condition of the planetary environment.

So I don't feel much of a need to argue the subject. LOL.
