CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police said a man charged with shooting an Illinois state trooper first shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, a Chicago special education teacher.
As CBS 2's Marissa Perlman reported Thursday, we have now uncovered yet another woman who had to get an order of protection against the man – 37-year-old Cristobal Santana – and his threats.
"We just want to know what really happened," said Michelle Martinez. "We want make sure that person, you know, pays for what he did to my aunt. She did not deserve any of this."
For this report, we concealed the face of Martinez – the niece of 37-year-old Adrianna Lopez. Her family still has questions about what happened between when she filed an order of protection against Santana, and her death.
"She was afraid," Martinez said. "I know she was."

The trooper and the suspect were in the 1600 block of Toronto Road in Springfield just after 10:45 p.m. when "gunshots were fired."
ISP said the trooper was struck in the leg.
The suspect, 37-year-old Cristobal Santana of Chicago, fled on foot and was taken into custody just before 2 a.m.

Lopez was shot and killed outside her home in the city's Garfield Ridge neighborhood Sunday night.
Lopez, who was 37 years old, was steps from her home in the 5400-block of South Narragansett Avenue when, police say, she was approached by a man she knew in a dark-colored SUV just after 9:30 p.m.
Martinez said the family has been told that the man got out of the vehicle, argued at length with Lopez, and then, opened fire. Police said she was shot at least 10 times.
"She didn't even have the chance to protect herself, to defend herself. Wasn't right," Martinez said.
