How many of y'all feel like that's a possibility that AJ has been there longer that when he was reported missing?
The M.E. should come up with a fairly good estimate of how long little AJ's body was there.

Yes, indeed, a very fine quote and, sadly, it's true.
We have put our hearts out to embrace so many of these precious children. SMH. It just never stops. Heaven is too full of those young angels, just too full. But if they were in a scary, painful and cruel situation, they are now free of it, regardless of our feelings of what happens to them when they die. At least the fear and pain are gone.

Thanks @borndem. There are no words. That poor baby lived in hell on earth.

This was not the ending I had hoped for, but the outcome I expected. He's safe now.

At this point it should not depend on them.
DCSF,and Judges better step up and do right by these children.
MOO
Generally speaking, the legal process will still be the same as the parents have charged but not found guilty (ex the 13 children of LT). If the parents relinquish their rights it will be faster for the children. Sad to say parents will often do this to look better in court but it is still better for the children.

The goal is to protect child. We have a lot of lawyers that are good at proving the parents are reformed and use the LAW to their full advantage to get these kids back to their parents.

Look how her lawyer repeatedly stated she was innocent, she knew nothing, refused to let her talk to LE.
After the big daycare scandle in the 90s, where everyone lied and said kids were abused when they weren't, folks lobbied to change the laws, its hard to remove kids from their home, it takes a Judges protective order and you need proof. Proof is hard to get photos, medical records, etc.

It’s all about $$$$

What would aggregated battery include?
Aggravated Battery Defined
The definition of aggravated battery varies by state, but the acts most often include the use of a deadly weapon, battery in which serious bodily injury occurs or where there is an intent by the perpetrator to cause serious bodily harm, battery involving a hate crime, or battery against a police officer or a vulnerable person such as a child or an elderly person.

To be convicted of an aggravated battery charge, a judge or jury usually has to make a specific finding of one of the facts that would elevate a battery to an aggravated battery. Most states consider a firearm to be a per se deadly weapon. If you used something other than a gun, the prosecutor will have to show that the alleged weapon was at least capable of causing death or serious bodily injury because of the way that it was used. For example, most people have kitchen knives in their homes. A kitchen knife is not per se a deadly weapon because most people use it for a non-deadly purpose, like peeling potatoes. However, if you get mad at your roommate and lunge at him with a knife, your use of the knife may be considered a deadly weapon. Things that courts have considered to be deadly weapons include fists, cars, pool sticks, and BB guns. The laws of each state determine what is considered an aggravating situation.

What would aggregated battery include?
In accordance with Illinois assault and battery laws, the state may elevate a charge of battery to aggravated battery, a more serious crime, under circumstances described by law. For example, any conduct causing severe bodily injury, disfigurement, or a permanent disability likely qualifies as an aggravated battery."

Interesting that he was confined just before noon, but she wasn’t until after 3:30pm CT.

Aggravated battery is considered "great bodily harm" so a serious injury, but there are a lot of different versions you can charge under. Here they charged under perm disability (meaning caused harm to create/reasonably expect perm disability, i.e. head trauma) and great bodily harm, which really if you can prove the first, you can prove the second. And the domestic is easily added, because it's aggravated battery to a family member.

The father has this which is different than the mother: "aggravated battery of a child less than 13 permanent disability". The charge, to me, infers that he disabled Andrew in some way before he was murdered. She does not have this specific charge though, only "aggravated battery of a child less than 13 great bodily harm".

Sometimes it's just a matter of how busy the jail is or how often the information is updated.

And then you get a parent like Chris Watts who always was a good father, beautiful home, beautiful wife and daughters whom many considered a super dad until he had an affair for 5 wks while wife and girls left to visit family out of state who wasn’t on drugs ate healthy choked and smothered his wife and two little girls to death with his own bare hands buries the wife in shallow grave and crammed the little girls in openings of crude oils tanks where he was employed. Yep happens in all walks of life.
