This article give details about Daniel Nowicki, JoAnns boyfriend who lived in the home until he was incarcerated in December ‘18.

Parents of missing Crystal Lake boy fight foreclosure of home

Lenders are attempting to foreclose on the home where a 5-year-old Crystal Lake boy was reported missing Thursday, court records show.

Andrew Freund and JoAnn Cunningham purchased the mortgage for their Dole Avenue home from Home Sites, LLC on March 14, 2017, court records show.

The pair failed to pay 2016 and 2017 property taxes on their home, however, and in July, Home Sites sought foreclosure on the property, citing defaulted payments in the amount of $98,909, according to a petition filed in McHenry County court.

The property was originally purchased by Freund for $137,500 in 1990, according to property records.

In accordance with a Nov. 21 court order, the home was sold at a Feb. 22 foreclosure sale. Freund is attempting to dispute the transaction and the matter is expected to pick back up in McHenry County court Thursday.

Another man, 36-year-old Daniel Nowicki, is also reported to have lived at the home some time within the past year.

Woodstock police arrested Nowicki in December, after he allegedly kicked and hit two nurses and a security guard at Northwestern Medical Hospital – Woodstock, while undergoing a psychological evaluation, Cunningham said in a Jan. 1 email to the Northwest Herald. Nowicki lived at the Dole Avenue address at the time, according to the criminal complaint detailing his arrest.

Nowicki was taken to the McHenry County Jail on Dec. 19, and remained there Monday evening on a $75,000 bond.

He purchased the house in 1990, and while most people with a 30 year mortgage would have paid off 137K, he was in default for 99K!

Do we know the last person to see AJ aside from his murderers?
His tribute mentions AJ’s excitement as he looked forward to kindergarten & his enjoyment of puzzles. Who did AJ talk to about school?

Tysm @osu glad to see the kids had some normal moments.
I will not be surprised to learn The drugs JC used had advanced past heroin, and when she ran out of her drug of choice, her drug seeking behavior (noted by LE) led to extreme aggression.
In your pics, moo she had a nice supply of drugs & was able to somewhat tend to household chores, maybe she had help from a friend.

Early on msm said Drew grew up in the house & inherited it. Later, as time allows, I’ll see if the articles are still posted.
Found this article about the house which says Freund purchased it in 1990. However, if they’re looking at property records, he still may have inherited it. I inherited my mother’s house but in the property records it looks as though I purchased it and the amount listed as the purchase price is the appraised value at probate.
As to Freund’s house, I also recall reading he grew up there and inherited it but can’t find a link. Maybe @Trudie will have better luck.

Dispute over foreclosure of accused murderers' Crystal Lake home continues | Northwest Herald

FWIW IMO The Northwest Herald seems to have the most comprehensive and accurate coverage of AJ’s case.

They looked so normal and happy. This breaks me even more.

A dangerous time for an abused child. AJ would have been away from Cunningham’s control and able to tell a teacher, a nurse, a classmate what was going on at home.

You can't judge a book by it's cover and you can't go off Fakebook either.

IMO, they would have never allowed AJ to attend school.

I hope JC does not die before she is convicted. The risks associated with WD are many.

She wanted to share pics that showed a normal happy family. I bet it’s the only time the house was clean and the kids were dressed nicely. A complete facade.

So true. Maybe someone had brought gifts & helped her tidy up. We just won’t ever know most details.

In this instance I would be ok with slow and painful or prison.

I hope the same. I want her to live through every agonizing minute of the trial and a long, long miserable life in prison. She’ll most likely be in protective segregation, at least at first. No one to talk to, no good drugs to get high, limited outdoor time, no distractions to make the time pass quickly. I hope it’s torture for her!

I was just thinking, a ploy, hoping to get gifts/money. More money=more drugs, more gifts=less money mom needed to spend on gifts, more for drugs.

In my area, heroin is laced with carfentanil and/or fentanyl, causing multiple deaths while using as well as during WD. Both drugs are so potent, once an addict gets it, he really belongs to his dealer, from that point on. Of course the dealer thrives, he raises his price & reduces the dosage, knowing the user will sell his soul for more.
Yes, I agree about her future prison life.
She will be on a maintenance program forever, imo & the majority of her life she will lie on her bunk sobbing, staring at the walls. That is a good thing as she has absolutely nothing to offer society.
I hope she is not getting commissary money at the county jail. If she does, imo it needs to go directly to P.
They both make me physically ill.

"Freund’s license was suspended for two years in October 2015. The Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois at the time found he was convicted of indirect criminal contempt for violating a court order while he served as JoAnn Cunningham’s divorce attorney.

The suspension was stayed after 90 days in January 2016 and Freund was placed on probation and allowed to practice law again. He was allowed to continue practicing law as long as he meets the requirements of his probation, which include continuing treatment for substance abuse." AJ Freund's dad had been ordered to undergo drug treatment to keep law license

With a gap in his income and costs for drugs, he may have refinanced the home. I would imagine his income didn't bounce back after the suspension and stay. It really is a shame how far he fell.

I can’t stand the sight of either Cunningham or Freund. But I have so much more hatred for her. That a mother, who should be wired to love and protect her child at any cost, would do this is always so incomprehensible to me. We see it over and over again here at Websleuths but with every new case I still feel the same sadness and disbelief and anguish at what these monsters are capable of.

My contempt is directed at both. I do think Drew was away from home a lot. WTH was going on during his absence? Bet both boys were locked in their rooms, lying in waste, w/o food or beverage while mom shot up, dozed, rinse-repeat.
I am amazed they never had a fire from the fireplace. I know of a heroin addict that caught his robe on fire stoking his fireplace, passed out on the couch, dying from smoke inhalation.
He was so high he didn’t realize his robe was on fire! Go figure.

Hln discussing AJ now.
