Now, if he’s the father of the unborn baby, he will have an opportunity to offer input as to the child’s future. Moo
I’m working on some links about his role (if he is the dad) but I have a lot to wade thru.
I think the baby’s father can exercise his right to parent, even if incarcerated, if he has someone to care for the baby until he’s released. This is moo.
BBM. He has no right to make decisions about the child because paternity isn't established and he isn't married to the mother.

I think the best interest of the child will be placement in the same household as PF.

JMO

With unmarried parents, the mother has sole legal and residential custody of the child until a finding of paternity is made and the father petitions the court for some form of custody.

In Virginia every foster parent meets the same guidelines. I have 2 friends that are foster families. They have to have an approved, Central Registry background check and training for a babysitter to even go out to dinner.

The work around...."temporary custody" with a family member. This requires a lot less supervision and the only financial assistance is TANF, food stamps and Medicaid.

An alcoholic is considered an alcoholic for life, even after reaching sobriety, as is an addict. I believe the same is said for a pedophile. So why is a child abuser expected to miraculously be cured?

If IL wants to promote family reunification, they need to build barracks, provide methadone vans & armed guards.
Otherwise, reunification will not work. Moo

I have no idea if the home that has P wants an infant.
I’m going by the statement made by some IL attorney after JC/AJ arrest.
I assume paternity has been established since Drew is not the donor, per msm.
Some have speculated the father is DN, idk. I have no idea how many sexual partner/encounters she might have had.

So true! She may not even know who the father of the baby is.

Let’s hope! I’d hate to see any “boyfriend” of hers to have input or custody, jmo.

That’s true, she could have been turning tricks for money, drugs or both.

Ita !

If the father of the unborn baby is the person currently incarcerated.... would he provide a stable home for the baby, after he gets out ?

I no longer trust the DCFS in AJ's city or county.

Yea, the hotel stays make me wonder.
At least we’ll never see her ugly face strutting around in a bikini again.

Yep, could be anyone

Not that I know in this case but here, if someone is indebted to their dealer....they need to ante up, one way or another. Night time farm theft is huge here, addicts steal what they can grab, to sell or to give to their dealer.

I kind of hope they do so the weight of what they did to him seeps deep into their souls and fills them with remorse.
Also so they see all the people who actually Love Andrew.

As, he stated in the I interview there are only 14 Dr.s specially trained to identify abuse in Illinois, 350 in the county.
Physicians, especially those entering the field in the last 20 years are very concerned about liability. Medical malpractice insurance is a huge cost for physicians and you can't practice without. In the 90s, WVA Dr's stopped excepting Medicaid for pregnant moms due to MMPI. The cost was astronomical and some companies dropped coverage, in WVA entirely.

The law needs to change, to provide protection for physicians, if we want the new generation of DRs to speak up.

He also referenced a Judges comments in a Chicago newspaper, stated they had to have extensive proof.
We are over burdening the legal system, with stiff laws to protect parents.
Extensive proof. Like a dead child?

In the interview the doctor stated that child abuse is a fairly new medical specialty. He didn't say a forensic medical specialist wasn't available to McHenry County. He mentioned nothing about malpractice insurance. He also pointed out the need for physicians, law enforcement and judicial system to work better together which was an incredible understatement about this case.

McHenry county has a Child Advocacy center but DCFS didn't bother to take the boys there. Parker was taken there after AJ was found. It's disgraceful.

I totally agree, however, Illinois law does not allow the removal of children of drug addicts.
Imo, Illnosis would have to reopen orphanages to house the children and NO one wants to hear that.

There would never be enough qualified foster homes, especially for older children with the problems this state has.

Illinois PROMOTES prison reform, what does that say, in itself.

Heads should roll for this. Atrocious.

Maybe the video should be released and the people responsible should be forced to watch it ?
Would that change anything ?
I don't know.

If the general public could see this (with the sensitive areas covered for AJ's dignity); would laws change due to more activism and outrage ?
Seeing bruises in a photo/video would have more impact, than just reading about them. Imo.

Although the laws that are already on the books didn't help AJ, as they were NOT enforced.
Poor AJ had no dignity in life and no protection from those monsters.
So he wet the bed. So what ?
Maybe because he was terrified ?

It sounds like there were relatives who were barred from seeing him. That should've been a danger signal, but I'm trying not to blame them.
Because short of kidnapping AJ-- what could they have done ?
This is sickening and depressing !

There was some video released of Adrian Jone's torture , and I made myself watch a little of it.
There's also a video on YT about A.Jones with his voice on it, pleading his step mom not to hurt him. I don't know if it's valid.
But I couldn't bring myself to listen.

But that video --esp. the outdoors clip in December, where he's in his pj's, handcuffed and barefoot, and walking outside in the driveway -- tore at my heart.
It stays with you.

Video of AJ and his funeral video should be mandatory viewing for all DCFS workers, Family Court Judges, Teachers and all mandatory reporters.

Here’s a couple articles regarding AF’s office. Apparently, it was in Riverside IL, which is about 47 miles from Lake Crystal or 1 hr 15 minute commute from Dole Ave house.

Freund practiced law in Riverside. A man who answered at a phone number listed for AF’s law office on Thursday described Freund as an “independent contractor” but would not provide additional information and declined to give his name.
AJ Freund's dad had been ordered to undergo drug treatment to keep law license

Although he lives in Crystal Lake, AF Sr. is an attorney whose professional address is listed at 24 East Ave. in Riverside, a storefront in the Tower Apartments owned by a real estate trust.
Crystal Lake man accused of killing son has Riverside ties
As I said, I think AF used the Riverside address on court documents. With a cell phone, lap top and ability to file court documents electronically, an attorney can work from anywhere.

Well the best situation is for her to be clueless or not mention names, imo.
As someone posted yesterday, maybe the baby could be adopted out & JC will never have familial contact to get any info, down the road.
Of course we don’t know that the baby will be healthy & able to survive. It is my guess the sperm donor leads a life Similar to JC’s.
Not every foster family is able to commit to a child with special needs, imo. So, time will tell.

He also, stated due to HIPPA it was hard to share medical records.
That is untrue, it clearly states they are required by HIPPA law to release certain medical records to LE.
