Seems like we should doubt the reported circumstances of April's disappearance and I mean REALLY doubt it.
I was a little shocked when I read the comments. April's sister regularly posts comments on her families website when it's Christmas, a birthday, etc. but I wasn't prepared for that one. Here's the comment if anyone is interested: "OUR sister disappeared, and instead of searching, the only word you put out was a lie.One your children regurgitated. Why? To protect the guilty. That's ok. God has this. Truth comes out. I'll pray for your soul,& your husband's too. You both need it."

I was shocked too. Could be that April's sister just found out what really happened to her.

"I'll pray for your soul,& your husband's too." That's scary

Here's what April's sister, Sharon, wrote on her FindAGrave page: Flowers for April Rose Zane - Find a Grave...

"Dear girl, your case is still open. God will take care of the guilty, for that I'm sure. Seems it's more important to lie for a narcissist than to let a 17 year old victim get buried properly. A sin is a sin. A lawyer fights for justice. That's fine"

Oh she definitely discoverd something! And she wants the truth to come out!
I think we'll probably get more details about April's disappearance in the future, thanks to her sister

I am friends with Sharon and I can tell you though she appreciates people wanting to solve this, until law enforcement listens to her, maybe then it will be solved. This has been her entire life, can people understand that going on her findagrave page asking questions is overstepping?
Please try to respect her privacy. She's a real sweetheart, & she's been hurt enough.
As for myself, I've seen what's she's been through, and know how she's searched. My question is why didn't any of her older sister's ever search for April? Her brother did when he was here, but it's always been Sharon.

Prior to her disappearance, according to April’s younger sister, April had often babysat for the children of her older sisters, who were married and lived nearby. April had also expressed an interest in moving in with one of them. Her older sisters were said to associate with drug users and one of the drug dealers had suggested she move in with him, but wanted to her push pills in exchange for his hospitality.
At one point, April turned in several of the drug dealers associated with her sisters. April’s report resulted in arrests, and April feared retaliation. According to family, April’s mother would often see a dark colored car sitting outside their home. She would call police, but the car would always be gone by the time police arrived. Due to these concerns, April had gone to live with her grandmother for awhile, but had listed her address as a homeless shelter, in order to avoid being tracked down.

According to Sharon (April’s younger sister), their older sisters did not make any effort to locate April after her disappearance. In fact, one of them told Sharon she was going to “put a stop to” Sharon’s attempts to publicize April’s case. One of them, it turned out, had never told her husband that April was missing. Sharon believes that one or both of them may have known something about her disappearance – one of them is deceased. Police refused to question them, according to Sharon.

May she have entered Witness Protection Program? That would explain why LE refused to review the case. I'm just speculating, of course.

In this case, I think she did run away from home at first, but then... she realized things aren't as easy as they seem... her little sister is still looking for her, and both of her parents have passed away... apparently she never adapted to her new home... sometimes we don't know if she was raised poorly or if children just turn out that way... I don't think she was bad, but she made bad decisions, yes...
whatever it is
Rest in peace

Hi,this is Sharonrose, April's sister. The reason the older siblings didn't look was because they all were involved with the drug dealers April turned in. I'm sure they also didn't want retaliation.
The last place April was seen was at Graceys bar on Kansas Street where our older sister worked. April had worked at an adjacent pizza parlor owned by the owners of the bar. She wasn't allowed in the bar as she was a minor. A patron was seen walking outside to speak to April, and that's the last she was seen. If you have any other further questions, feel free to contact me. 🌹
