Perhaps by identifying the killer responsible for an unsolved murder dating back to the 1970s.

That’s the aim of the Elgin Police Department’s Cold Case Unit, which next month launches the second season of their hit podcast, “Somebody Knows Something.”

Somebody Knows Something, the Elgin Police Cold Case Podcast, returns for Season 2

The Elgin Police Cold Case Podcast has returned for its second season, with Detectives Andrew Houghton and Chris Hall investigating five unsolved homicides and one unsolved disappearance from the 1970s in Elgin and Mount Prospect.

''Houghton and Hall will also take time to look into the disappearance of 14-year-old Barbara Glueckert in 1976.

While technically not an EPD case, detectives said her case has some links to Karen Schepers’ missing persons case. They talked to the Mount Prospect detective who handled the Glueckert investigation and hope to shine light on that cold case as well.''
