Have there been any arrests? Or are the POIs still POIs?

It absolutely blows my mind how nothing has ever come about regarding this case! I thought for sure after her remains were identified that something would happen and absolutely nothing has??? I guess sometimes people just get lucky and get away with murder?

I'm only superficially aware of the (very limited) facts in this case but to me it smells like a cover-up of an accidental death. Perhaps Beth drowned on the lake and Wyatt said that her family could never know what she had been doing so a third party "cleaned it up" and everyone involved stuck by their vows of silence.

Usually under enough pressure from investigators someone cracks and comes clean so was maybe investigation unusually soft on this one? Maybe the death wasn't known to everyone in the party and rather than drowning it was something more intimate that happened on Sunday.

I just can't imagine a close friend of 15 years being part of a murder conspiracy without some clear connection to organized crime that investigators would have uncovered and with Beth being seen partying and acting normally on the phone during the trip. I am sure there is a less connected and shady third party that burned her body.

Eventually, someone is going to reveal what happened as a result of fresh blood on the investigation and/or old blood on someone's hands coming clean.

Wow, it's been a long time since I've thought of this case. It drove me crazy when I was actively posting.
Maybe one day there will be a death bed confession ...

a friend of 15 years can change a lot when there’s narcotics or other substances influencing people’s behavior, just my opinion

I was thinking of Beth Bentley today (which I often do). I was thinking maybe we can go through the facts in regard to the weekend she went missing. I do know a lot about the case as it is, however I'm really just shocked at how this case went cold.

Beth lived in Woodstock, Illinois (which is located in McHenry County)
She spent the weekend 5 1/2 hours away from her residence with a group of people to Mount Vernon Illinois (Jackson County)
The missing persons call was made by her family in Woodstock therefore they are the primary investigation team.
Jackson County I believe had things transferred over as they were supposed to handle the case.
Word has it that Illinois State Police took over, however I have personally never seen any media on this case as far as ISP or Jackson.
Additionally, the lead investigator on this case in Woodstock retired a few years ago.
So who is leading this case?
What do we know?
Mount vernon is in Jefferson county not Jackson, I live 8 miles from mtv. Jackson county is a few counties south of us

It's going to be 15 years soon that Beth went missing and today we are no closer to knowing what happened to her than we knew then. It's all so sad! LE from all over have botched this case miserably and those individuals responsible for her death have been allowed to live their lives like nothing ever happened! At this point I hope some "cold case expert" will finally look hard into Beth's death and uncover what really happened. Justice needs to come for Beth!!

I recently found out that an old friend of mine who died by suicide last year, who shockingly enough had a suicide pact with his older brother, was very likely a murderer.

What’s 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 up is my best friend (his ex) and I found out recently that he and his brother, and his brother’s ex-girlfriend, are suspected to be involved in the disappearance/murder of Beth Bentley of Woodstock, IL in 2010; two years before we all became friends.

Once learning about this, my best friend retrospectively remembered a fight they had years before where her ex drunkenly alluded to making someone disappear with his brother.

At the time, she thought it was all drunken fodder, but in the morning, he backtracked and told her to disregard anything he might’ve said the night before. That’s what raised red flags… but like so many do, she rationalized it and put it on the back burner.

Months later during one of their many breakups, she had manipulatively said something along the lines of “I’m going to tell the police what you told me a while ago.” What she said was she saw a plethora of emotions plague his face. First there was anger like she’d never seen before, then sadness, then fear, and supposedly he broke down and dropped to his knees and held her shins for minutes while crying before pulling himself together.

She disregarded all that information until she found out about Beth Bentley’s case through her ex’s sister. If you knew the hold and influence my friend’s brother had on him, you wouldn’t be surprised. And towards the end of his life, he became more detached from reality by diving deeper into pseudosciences, on top of drugs and alcohol.

Despite not being shocking news because of his pockets of irrationality, I’m still shocked. I’ve worked with him, lived with him, drank with him, ate with him, danced with him, celebrated with him, cried with him, took him to the hospital after breaking his neck, had him watch my animals, etc. There’s a level of grief I have, while also being insanely angry at him and for the family. And of course, off all the unanswered questions with both his and his brother’s cowardice if they truly were responsible.

We’ve both called Crime-Stoppers and attempted to contact local authorities in Woodstock, IL because the case is still unsolved. Detectives have yet to respond to our calls.”

Wow that’s some interesting information. Hope it gets to LE and they investigate. Thanks for sharing!
