Carl Spann disappeared from Decatur, IL in 1974, with his then girlfriend Brenda Morgret.
He was last known to be living in San Francisco, CA, may also have been in Texas or possibly New Mexico.

He's mentioned a few times in Decatur newspapers in 1971 and 1972. I don't have access to the full articles on newspapers.com right now, but from the snippets it looks like he was involved with drugs (heroin.)
In 2007 his name is in a Decatur paper again under Claims: "Notice is given of the presumption of death of Carl M Spann..." (I think that's what it says) but I can't read the rest.

Hello. I've been trying to track down a man by the name of Carl Spann who was a comic book artist in the early '70s. I'm a collector of the types of comics that Mr. Spann worked on and am in the process of writing a reference guide to the genre. I haven't had any luck in tracking him down and now, reading this, I fear that he may be the same person. Do you know if the Carl Spann you posted about was an artist?
