“It’s definitely not normal for her not to come home,” Mike Pantelin said of his niece, who was last seen at 10:17 p.m. Sunday leaving her home in the 4600 block of South Wisconsin Ave.

“She texted her mom she was going out and she’d be back,” her uncle said.

Ehresman, 20, is a Morton West High School graduate, attends classes at Triton College, has a job and lives with her parents, said Pantelin, of Bolingbrook.

To his knowledge, Ehresman does not have a boyfriend. “She has groups of friends and she was going out to meet with somebody,” he said. “We don’t know where she was going.”

He said police determined her cell phone “pinged” in Oak Park around 1 a.m. Tuesay in Oak Park.

Hoping for justice for this young lady. It won't take away the grief of her loved ones but it might prevent another loss of a promising life.

What time was it when she went to work? Was that earlier in the day that her father saw her?
She texted her mom she was going out, guessing no one was home when she left.
How did she know this creep who murdered her. In her group of friends or off an app?
Prayers for her family.

So sad. This article explains what happened:

"After the two communicated on social media, they decided to meet in person and she left her home Jan. 23 in her red Ford Fiesta and went to Chavez’s home, parking her car in the 600 block of South Maple Avenue in Oak Park, prosecutors said.

Doorbell surveillance from a nearby home shows Chavez walked out of his home and walked back in with Ehresman around 10:38 p.m. Jan. 23, prosecutors said.

Around 7:30 a.m. the next day, surveillance video shows Chavez getting into Ehresman’s car and driving it to the 5900 block of West Iowa Street, parking it there and walking east, prosecutors said. No one else exited the car, prosecutors said.

Chavez walked around the area for about an hour then called his brother to pick him up, prosecutors said. His brother picked him up around 9:37 a.m. less than a mile from where he parked the car, prosecutors said.

Ehresman is never seen leaving Chavez’s home and Ehresman’s last phone call was to Chavez’s phone, prosecutors said.

Cell phone records show Chavez’s phone was pinged in the area where he was seen walking after he parked the car, prosecutors said. Surveillance video shows he was wearing a mask when he drove the car to South Austin, prosecutors said.

On Jan. 25, when Chavez was placed in custody for an outstanding DUI warrant, police spotted lacerations on his hands and he appeared to have cut his hair, prosecutors said.

While in custody, Chavez called his parent and asked them to “get his passport ready,” prosecutors said. He also police the two “hooked up,” on Jan. 23 and he’d gone to sleep by 8 p.m. and when he woke up after 10 a.m. Ehresman was gone, Konstantopoulos said.

On Jan. 28, Ehresman’s car was found and she was found in the back seat with a jacket covering her face, prosecutors said.

Ehresman died of asphyxiation caused by strangulation and being smothered, prosecutors said. Her death was ruled a homicide.

After getting a search warrant on Jan. 31, police searched Chavez’s home and found a partially packed suitcase, the mask he’s seen wearing in surveillance video and hair clippings in his garbage, prosecutors said.

Court records show Chavez pleaded guilty in 2016 to a misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing police and he was sentenced to a year of court supervision. Prosecutors dropped a count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor with his plea. ...

Ehresman worked two jobs and had recently enrolled at Triton College in River Grove to become a nurse, her family previously said.

“It’s all she ever wanted to do was help people,” her father, JE, said.

One thing I drilled into my daughter (I'm second generation female LEO) is NEVER meet someone alone that you know only on social media. No exceptions. I'm so sorry for her family, none of them deserved this outcome.

Charisma Ehresman update: Forest View, IL nursing student found dead in Austin strangled by Richard Chavez, prosecutors say - ABC7 Chicago
Her father said there is evidence to dispute every claim Chavez has made and that his daughter was not the type to go meet someone unknown to "hook up."

"She knows better than that; this isn't Charisma," her father, Jeffery Ehresman, said. "She would never have met up with someone on her own,"

Her parents believe someone their daughter knew must have told her this "evil" man was trustworthy.
