Seems like CPD are adding cold case UIDs to NAMUS lately. It's sad to see that these two were never identified.

Circumstances of Recovery - Co-mingled skeletal remains were uncovered during the excavation of the former Rainbo Roller Center on 11/26/2003 (ME case 448 Nov 03, NamUs UP129259). Additional remains were recovered on 12/2/2003 (ME case 034 Dec 03, NamUs UP129260) as excavation of the building site continued. Two individuals were recovered with one considered "robust" and the other considered "average" in stature. This record is for the unidentified individual referred to in the medical examiner report as "robust".

Other distinctive physical characteristic - Well-healed fracture callus on the anterior-medial aspect of the distal end of the right humerus.

At one point, an officer held up a long bone with decayed cloth attached to it before placing it in a brown paper bag. Police also found two different sneakers several feet under the ground and placed those in bags as well.
The lot is also across the street from the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, prompting one passerby to comment on the possible origin of the bones.

Thanks for this post! I have been writing about them for over a decade, made a video and even wrote to WGN in 2020. I pray they get identified. They deserve their names back
