It would be a big coincidence if she had no contact orders unrelated to Kyle and this case.

So, my guess would be that she either tried to directly contact Kyle, his lawyer, his caregivers or someone else close to the case.
Yes, I agree.

If she tried to contact his attorney, I'm not sure she'd be arrested---but if she tried to contact Kyle or his grandparents, especially in person, I am sure they'd take her to jail. JMO

I keep hoping that they will resolve this soon. This tragedy happened when K. was 8 years old. EIGHT. Just a little kid. How old is he know?

This kid needs urgent therapy and rehabilitation if he actually did it. And if he didn’t, he will still need the therapy. Dragging this case is not doing anyone any good, I believe it’s actually further victimizing this poor child.

K. never had anyone being nice, kind, loving, gentle to him. Never. That house was disgusting, his mother was awful to him. Please, just help this kid, give him a loving home.

he was 9 when arrested on 10/7/19 - so he is 10 now. Don't have his birthdate though.

I believe he was still 8 when the fire happened though. I can try and look for an article or something, but I remember it being mentioned a few times.

@imstilla.grandma - just wonder if there might be any updates on Kyle or his mother's case?

TIA! :)
I’ve looked everywhere. Nothing. The only thing I found was this video posted today. For some reason, it’s the opening for another crime.
Teen’s unthinkable act while parents slept
*From the article:
Claire Miller (14) was taken into custody at the scene and was being held without bail at the Lancaster County Prison. She was charged as an adult because homicide is not considered a delinquent act in Pennsylvania. bbm

Hi everyone. I hope y’all are well. I haven’t posted in ages.I’m trying to come back and catch up with WS and my friends. I don’t find any updates but came across this old live radio program discussing this case. I find it interesting and he has a unique style. Open minds, please. Some possibly offensive language so I’ll place it in a spoiler. Eta: sound problems until around the first six or seven minutes if I remember correctly…

He seems developmentally delayed or something. Not sure he could write or spell.Possibly from a lack of education and poor socialization. I wonder if those kids attended school regularly?

What a nightmare.

It has been proved that Kyle can't understand what is going on in court.

It's heartbreaking. I still don't believe he set the fire. I hope they are keeping track of what mom is doing these days. I sure hope she hasn't started another family.

Per my notes on the mom:

She committed the violation on the 12/1/20, charges were brought on the 12/3/20, a warrant issued & apprehended on the 12/4/20.
12/31/20 Update: Scheduled for a Criminal Misdemeanor Pre-trial motion to reduce bail on Jan 8, 2021.

So - don't now "what" happened in her case. I can't access Woodford County in IL - maybe someone reading here - can? Her DOB is 5/22/91.

I'm 100% sure someone is keeping track of her.

The attorney for a minor charged with murder and arson in a 2019 mobile home fire in Goodfield criticized the police investigation into the incident, claiming at a hearing on Thursday that new information has recently been uncovered that may impact the case.

Describing the police investigation as “extremely terrible in this case,” defense lawyer Peter Dluski asked Judge Charles Feeney for more time to prepare for a hearing on a defense motion to bar certain evidence from the boy’s trial.

“I care about this kid ... I’m not trying to drain money from the county. I have to defend a 10-year-old kid,” Dluski told the judge.

According to Dluski, new information about the handling of the case was disclosed on Monday in a deposition of Woodford County sheriff’s deputy Robert Gillson. The lawyer said he wants to look into allegations that the state’s attorney’s office may have overstepped its bounds by appointing a guardian ad litem, a lawyer who would represent the interests of the child.

Feeney debunked that claim, noting the appointment is made by a judge in all juvenile cases.

The judge asked Dluski to focus his arguments for a continuance on specific allegations of violations of the child’s constitutional rights. Defense questions about search warrants and how the mobile home was released after the fire meet the standard for constitutional claims, said Feeney, in granting a delay.

The defense also is waiting on additional mental health records from authorities.

The child was evaluated last year by a childhood trauma expert who told the court the boy was mentally unfit to stand trial. Shortly after the incident, Katie Alwood told a media outlet her son had been previously diagnosed with a mental illness.

Feeney noted the case has been pending more than two years, but assured lawyers he wants them to have ample time to prepare their case.

“I have no angst over the time this case has taken,” said Feeney.

State’s Attorney Greg Minger said the state was ready to move forward with the hearing.

A Sept. 13 hearing is scheduled to review the status of the case. @Niner
