I just can't get past Mom's different versions of what happened during the fire. Her story makes no sense, the way she originally told it. Her husband taking time while the fire first began, to 'escort her' outside, while THREE BABIES and a GRANDMOTHER were asleep in their rooms. In a trailer...just feet away from them.

If a fire started in my home my husband and I would each go to different bedrooms, like we did during the Northridge quake. He wouldn't 'escort me out' and then run back in for our babies. Who does that?

And her story that she was talking to the family through the window as they were trapped and burning to death? Really:? She didnt get a hose and try to save anyone, she just talked to them to say goodbye?
I completely agree with you. I'd die trying to save my child and would inadvertently, physically assault anyone who tried to stop me. I don't know if shock played a part, but the need to protect your offspring to the point of self-sacrifice, runs deep. JMO.

You know, that is very true. I have seen pictures of women, who saved their children from fires, they are in burn units, bandaged up. Their babies are usually okay, because the Mom saved them, and protected them.

Yes, but I think if self-sacrifice isn’t part of your daily life with your kids, it’s not likely to appear in an emergency. She struck me as pretty self-involved. And clueless about how heartless it would sound when she said she talked to her burning kids through the wall...instead she thought she’d come across like “I’m really deep and profound, dontcha know.” JMO

What makes it a little suspicious, to me is the fact that she states she was with her niece in the bathroom, both she AND her niece got out of the bathroom and she was the only one who was able to exit the house. How is that even possible? How come her husband helped her to get out but didn't notice the baby that was with her? Come on. Maybe the boy wasn't even supposed to make it out of there, if you know what I mean.

Yes, even by her own statements, she never tried to take her niece outside with her. The only thing she cared about was saving her own fat A$$.

Interesting. So the Mother could be the consummate victim. This is like Munchausen by Proxy on steroids.

At one point her story was that she was holding Rosie in front of the furnace, the furnace blew(yeah right, not only is she not dead but not a scratch on her from the exploding furnace right in front of her!) and that she dropped Rosie and was knocked out,she allegedly woke to find her husband dragging her out of the trailer. I'm sorry but there is no way that Jason managed to haul a dead weight unconscious Katrina out of that trailer in the seconds before it went completely up,and not only that but also manage to run back in again to try to save the babies!.
She is an out and out liar and not a very good one either IMO.
What mother stands outside a window watching her babies burn in their beds and doesnt fight until her very last breath to try to get to them?,just stands there telling the air that she is sorry?,nope no way am I buying it!.

I wonder if she realized right away that the boy was out of the house or if she thought he was still inside. Jesus Christ. I can't imagine someone just getting out like that without trying to save, AT LEAST, one child. Her niece couldn't have been that far away from her, come on now.

So CPS went to the home 14 times since the boy was born, answering reports of abuse, neglect and dirty home, lack of food , truancy complaints. And 12 0f those reports were deemed 'unfounded.'

But they would say, yes, home was very dirty but parents had a clean up plan, and count that as 'unfounded.'

It just makes me sad because the end result was not such a surprise given the way he was being brought up. So much dysfunction...JMO

I’m just about sick to death over the massive failures of CPS governmental agencies. Wth are state regulatory oversight committees/task forces good for if they aren’t doing their job? Taxpayers fund these organizations. I think the US govt needs to step in, get their priorities in order, and issue mandates for all state and county family & children services to be investigated with full scale audits!

oh yeah, imo.

Is it okay to ask who is MA? He's mentioned on that document.
Snipped:
In 2009 and still in high school, Katie Alwood gave birth to a son, Kyle. Her relationship with the boy's father lasted until 2015. Despondent, she would tell herself, over and over, "I'm never going to meet anyone else."
...
Katie Alwood and Wall moved in together, in East Peoria. Her son, Kyle, lived with them, and in time so did her maternal grandmother, Kathryn Murray. Eventually, along came two children by the couple: son Daemeon in 2016, then daughter Ariel in 2017.
...
Meanwhile, about three years ago, Lori Alwood and her husband, Mike Alwood, moved into a trailer at Timberline Mobile Home Park. It sits just north of Goodfield, a Woodford County village of 860 residents.

Thank you! So, I'm assuming he's Kyle's grandfather?

I have a question. I feel like I've read every reply but I'm coming up short.

We know Kyle's attorney is trying to act in his best interest. But does he have any type of court appointed advocate?

I looked. I’m unable to find reference of one. Juvenile Justice Advocate organizations have been in an uproar since he was charged. I can’t imagine someone hasn’t stepped in to offer free services. CASA is wonderful.

Thursday, February 27th:
*Pretrial Hearing (@ 3:45pm CT) - IL – Ariel Wall (1), Daemeon Wall (2), Rose Alwood (2), Jason Wall (34) & Kathryn Murray (69) (April 6, 2019, Timberline Mobile Home Park, Goodfield) - *Kyle Alwood (9) arrested & charged (10/7/19) with 5 counts of murder, 2 counts of arson & 1 count of aggravated arson. The aggravated arson charge is based on the conclusion that the child knew people were in the home at the time the fire was started. Plead not guilty.
The suspect, if convicted, could be put on probation for at least 5 years, but not beyond the age of 21, and could be eligible to receive therapy & counseling. Prison time is not an option. If the juvenile is under 12 years old, police can only hold him or her for 6 hours, and an attorney will be appointed for the child and the verdict & possible sentence would be decided by a judge (bench trial).
Kathryn Murray is his great-grandmother, Jason Wall is the stepfather, Ariel & Daemeon are his siblings, and Rose is his cousin. The other person who survived was his mom, Katrina Alwood (27). Mom says Kyle was recently diagnosed with schizophrenia, ADHD and bipolar disorder, and showed interest in fire and lighters.

10/21/19 Update: Hearing to be held behind closed doors. Katrina subpoenaed to attend & gag order placed on her. As Judge read the charges Kyle asked his attorney what the words “alleged” “arson” or “resident” meant. Next hearing is on 11/22.
11/22/19 Update: Alwood himself was not in court Friday, his father, mother, grandmother & aunt were in attendance. Alwood’s aunt & grandmother were asked to leave because of strict rules surrounding juvenile cases, and the potential that one or both could be called as witnesses. The defense in the case said they are still receiving evidence from the state. Another pretrial date has been set for Dec. 20. A prosecutor said he plans on filing two motions, one allowing for statements from the 9 year old accused in the case and another for statements on “past bad acts.” Judge issued a gag order on case.
12/20/19 Update: Defense attorney Peter Dluski requested the approval of funds to retain a Chicago-area doctor who will determine the boy’s fitness and to retain a private investigator. State’s Attorney Greg Minger did not object to either motion but noted the private investigator is Dave Frank, a retired police officer who works part-time with the Metamora Police Department in Woodford County. Judge Charles Feeney granted both motions but said he might not approve the doctor later, emphasizing the value of an objective and “meaningful expert.” The next hearing in the juvenile case was scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Feb. 27, granting enough time for the boy's fitness evaluation.

I would really like to hear about the child's evaluation and his fitness to be put on trial for mass murder. Somehow I think there is more to this story.

After watching all of his videos, I really do not believe that he purposely killed his entire family.

Bolded by me: same here, I just don't see this boy doing something like that knowing that people could actually die.

I keep meaning to thank you for posting these updates on numerous cases. Thank you!
