Circumstances of Disappearance:
Costanteen "Gus" Hamden was last seen at his work at Bill Kay Honda in Bourbonnais, IL. He stated he was going to run across the street but never returned. Gus hasn't been seen since. Gus is known to frequent auto shops and may travel to the Chicago area.

Head Hair Description:
Short; Wavy; Black w/ grey
Facial Hair Description: May have a beard
Eye Color: Brown

Scar/mark: Small scar on eyelids; Scar on foot by toe (unk which foot); Scar on leg from stitches as a child (unk which leg); Burn scar on leg (unk which leg)

Clothing: Light black jacket

Details of Disappearance:
Hamden was last seen at his job, Billy Kay Honda in the 1300 block of Locket Drive in Bourbonnais, Illinois, on December 7, 2017.

He said he was going across the street on his bicycle and would be back in half an hour. He never returned and has never been heard from again.

Prior to his disappearance, Hamden frequented auto shops and made frequent trips to Chicago, Illinois. He used public transportation to get around.

Few details are available in his case.

***PRESS RELEASE***
March 13, 2024
The skeletal remains located on March 6, 2024, in Pembroke Township, Illinois, have been positively identified via dental records. The remains are those of Costanteen D. Hamden, age 49, of Momence, Illinois. Mr. Hamden was reported missing to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department on December 29, 2017, and was last known to be alive and well on December 7, 2017. An examination of the skeletal remains will be performed on March 15, 2024, at the Champaign County Regional Autopsy Facility.
Coroner Gessner said “I am hopeful this discovery and subsequent identification will bring closure to the Hamden family. I would also like to thank the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance and coordination in the investigation as well as the Bradley Police Department and Kankakee Police Department who provided resources. A special thank you to our Forensic Anthropologist Dr. Hughes, Forensic Odonatologist Dr. Pavlik, and Dr. Todd Miller and Premier Family Dental for their involvement and professional expertise that greatly helped expedite the identification process. Finally, I am proud of the Kankakee County Coroner’s Office staff who has invested over 70 collective working hours into this investigation thus far and for their commitment to providing dignity for the deceased, compassion for the living, and service for our partnering public safety agencies.”
The incident remains under investigation by the Kankakee County Coroner’s Office and Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department. Anyone with any pertinent information should contact the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department at (815) 802-7100.
