Everytime I'm firmly against the death penalty, a case like this comes along and I'm right back on the fence.

I am still way firmly against it, but I get what you mean. So many awful cases of people treating people terribly. I'll never get it, no matter how much study and research and insight I absorb.

Thanks to @Niner and @shotgun09 for keeping this thread updated for anyone who comes along. I hope others read the early links about DAMARI PERRY. His killers were awful people, but he was a sweet innocent kid and let's never lose him in all this too.

So sorry, I cannot locate the exact birth dates of either on the court clerk site. The information given there is sparse, to say the least.

ETA: I looked back through initial articles, and it shows Jannie Perry was 38 at the time of the crime. ( Jan 2022), and Jeremiah was 20.

Perry (20/now 21) "brother" arrested (1/7/22) & charged (1/8/22) with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm to a child under 12, concealing a homicidal death & obstructing justice (because of fake “story”) & indicted & recharged (2/2/22) with 8 counts of 1st degree murder, aggravated battery of a child, dismembering a human body, conspiracy, aggravated domestic battery, concealment of a homicidal death, endangering the life or health of a child, abuse of a corpse & obstructing justice. Plead not guilty. $3M bond set on 1/9/22.
