MERRIONETTE PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A 59-year-old man is missing in the south suburbs.

Daniel Davis was involved in a crash and might be disoriented, according to his family, who told ABC7 they fear he may be hurt.

*****

A longtime employee at 115 Bourbon Street is missing since Tuesday following a car accident.

Dan Davis, 59, was last seen leaving the bar, located at 3359 W. 115th Street in Merrionette Park, at around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Staff told WGN News he was involved in a car accident earlier that night and then came to Bourbon 115. They said he refused medical attention at the scene and believe he suffered a head injury.

*****
David was spotted on a surveillance camera at around 3 p.m. Wednesday in the area of the 13200-13300 block of Old Western Avenue in Blue Island wearing the same clothes.

He was not wearing a hat and is bald.

“He’s family since we opened 26 years ago,” an employee said. “It was his first Black Wednesday not here.”

*****

Dozens of people showed up Friday morning to join a search party for Daniel “Dan” Davis, III, a long-time employee of 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park. Davis was last seen in person leaving the bar early Tuesday morning.

*****
Davis was captured a handful of times on Ring and private security cameras in Blue Island throughout the day Tuesday, near the 13200-13300 blocks of Old Western Avenue.

“He was wandering the streets, cutting through yards, looking confused and lost,” Wendy (his daughter) said. “This behavior is unlike him.”

*****
Based on Davis’s movements, Chief Matt Ramirez of the Merrionette Park Police Department and his daughter think he may be heading southeast, possibly into Posen.

I am so worried, snow has been falling in Chicago since afater midnight last night, currently we've got only an inch or two but it's falling steadily and it's 27 at our house. After 4 days though I think he'd be sheltered somewhere if he is going to be found safe. I hope they have all hands out looking for him this morning.

Here is a map of 115 Bourbon street where he was employed and where he went missing from. 115 Bourbon Street · 3359 W 115th St, Merrionette Park, IL 60803

Here is the location where he was caught on camera 13300 Western Avenue, Blue Island. 115 Bourgon Street can be seen on the map what looks to be a little over 2 miles north/northwest of Western Avenue.

Here's a walking route between those three locations. All told, it's over 4 miles walking.
Good news in my mind is that the last place he was seen was further away from the canal.

But it's definitely worrisome that he is still missing after all of this time. ☹️

He was involved in a crash earlier in the day he went missing. I assume they mean on Monday as he went missing from work at 1:15 on Tuesday.

I also assume he has been on foot without access to a vehicle, because possibly it was damaged in the accident and in the cctv, he is on foot/they haven’t given details of a car.

But then it sounds like he has possibly been walking around all day Tuesday and then overnight and all day Wednesday, with last seen on video at 6:30pm on Wednesday.

Unless by 1:15am on Tuesday they really mean he went to work Tuesday night and went missing from work early hours of Wednesday morning?

I wonder what his behaviour was like at work? My husband had a head injury from a motorcycle accident and he was very obviously confused right away. Like would not have been able to work a shift at a bar for the night. (He’s fine now, but was definitely out of it for several hours).

I worry though because it’s been a long time and he hasn’t turned up. Here’s hoping he’s a John Doe in a hospital somewhere nice and warm just waiting to be found.

ETA: I have found a different missing poster on Facebook, not sure I can link here? It says he was involved in a car accident at 11:15pm Monday night. So 2 hours before he went missing. It’s weird he was at his work because I assume he wasn’t on his way to work a shift at 11:15pm. Maybe it was just a nearby familiar place when he was feeling scattered?

From the Patch article linked in the original post:

"It is believed that Davis may have been involved in a multi-vehicle accident sometime Monday near the Garden Homes Fire District near 119th Street and Avers.

According to his close friend and coworker, Kenny Braasch, Davis refused medical treatment at the scene. Davis went back to Bourbon Street after his car he was towed. He was last seen in person leaving the bar on foot around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, headed to 119th Street and Kedzie Avenue."

He wasn't on duty after returning to the bar.

From another Patch article -- dated Nov 30:

"After his car was towed from the accident scene, he ended up at Bourbon Street around closing time, where he was last seen in person around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday.

'He was seen on camera walking around the bar,” Braasch said. “He did not drink anything. He left through the back door.'"

The state of Illinois has issued a Silver Alert."

At the request of the Chicago Police Department, The Illinois State Police is activating an Endangered Missing Person Advisory.

The Chicago Police Department is requesting your assistance in locating Daniel C. Davis, a 59 year-old white male who is 5 feet 8 inches and weighs 170 pounds. Daniel has gray hair and is wearing a black harley davidson jacket with white stripes, red and black sweatshirt and black pants. He was last seen at the corner of Union Rd in Blue Island on November 25th.
Mr. Davis has a condition that places him in danger. Any person with information regarding the whereabouts of Daniel C. Davis should contact the Chicago Police Department at 312-747-8274. Or contact 911.

This Patch article gives more details about the possible Joliet sighting. It also has a couple of the images from earlier sightings. There are no camera images from Joliet.

Now, Davis’s family and friends are wondering if he hopped a Rock Island train to Joliet.

*****
Braasch said a witness from Joliet reached out to him on Saturday. The witness reported waiting for the light to change at Raynor and Jefferson with his son, when he saw a man, matching Davis’s description, sitting on the base of a lamp post on the corner near Global Auto Sales.

“It’s semi-credible, but pretty credible from the description,” Braasch said. “[The witness] and his son own a vintage clothing store. He remembered it because of the [Harley-Davidson] jacket. They almost stopped to ask if they could buy Dan’s jacket.”

The witness also noted that the person he saw was bald and appeared disoriented.

*****
The family is asking Joliet police to pull traffic camera footage to determine if it was Davis at the Jefferson and Raynor Street intersection on Wednesday, and, if necessary, redirect the search to that area.

“If Joliet police can check traffic camera footage so is he is there, we can find him,” Braasch said.

There have been other non-confirmed sightings of Davis since then in the Joliet area, including Friday evening at Home Cut Donuts at 815 W. Jefferson St., but there has been no confirmed camera sightings in Joliet.

Something doesn't seem to add up here. From what I can gather, he doesn't have any medical conditions related to memory, he was involved in a car accident, but some are saying he went to work after the accident and then disappeared shortly after. It's hard to believe that he'd have been wandering around this long without someone reporting him and/or helping him out. The last credible sighting was at St. Donatus Church in Blue Island. When I pull it up on the map, there's some wooded area to the southeast, as well as the Cal-Sag river. Considering that they haven't located him yet, I have to think that it is a likely spot where he may have ended up. His employer and the police seem to think that the Joliet sighting wasn't credible.

He didn't go to work after the accident. See post #8. He went to the bar where he is employed, to the location, but not to go to work. He arrived there shortly before closing time, wandered around the bar and went out the back door.
