Yes, I had read that. It was shocking to me that whoever did this was bold enough to start shooting from outside the home right through the door, but sadly it seems that this type of crime is common in the neighborhood. Honestly I am sure this happens a lot more often that we would think but we do not hear about it. If the victims were not related to Jennifer Hudson many of us would have never learned of this case. It really is very heartbreaking.

I read that Jason was found in a bedroom so the first shots through the door must not have been fatal. I wonder if he was possibly trying to get to the bedrooms to protect poor Julian

I think ALL crimes involving children need national attention. This is a horrible case that Jennifer Hudson's family was completely wiped out. Crimes of familes who are victims of crimes is on the rise!! Somebody got our attention.
Did William Balfour, aka sleazeball, owe major drug money??

I strongly agree. It is disturbing that some missing children AND adults get a huge amount of media coverage while there are many more that I would not know about of I were not a member of this site.

You raise a very interesting question, I have not heard anything about Balfour being into drug dealing but I would not be suprised in the least. If this were the case I suppose it would be possible that it was a ransom kidnapping gone horribly wrong?

You are so correct. There have been several murders just like this in the Chicago area in the past six months or so. IIRC, the day before this story broke, the media was reporting that Chicago beat out two large cities combined for murders this year. One of the cities named was Los Angeles. I can't remember what the other city was.

I just read on TMZ that one man said he called the police sat about the vehicle but no one responded.

If you go to JH's Myspace page you can see her sister Julia's and brother Jason's MySpace and Balfour's (Flex) page they are all public.

You can see what a close family they all were, and there are loads of pictures of the victims, the POI the inside of the SUV, the school bus depot where Julia works (worked).

I got the impression that Julia and her husband were still somewhat together...or atleast that's what their pages lead you to believe. I also sadly got the impression that perhaps brother Jason was a bit of a gangster and the pictures of their neighborhood look a bit scketchy. - So perhaps there was another motive that did not include Balfour. Just sayin'

What do we know about Julian's bio dad. I've seen his name mentioned, so I guess he's still somewhat involved in the boys life.

Do we have any idea on the COD on the boy? I too just cannot see someone shooting him and then taking him. My guess is that if it was someone close we will find out the boy was smothered while he slept in the car.

Thier is a myspace pic of Jason where he has a cane. It's been said that he had gotten shot in the leg in the past and since walked with a limp.

Especially in light of the Cole Puffinberger case. The Mexican Cartel was involved, however it was not in their best interest to kill the child. They only wanted the Gpa. Too much national attention brings attention across the border.

This ex-con drug addicted loser was probably kicked out of the home because he owed drug money and was using. Jennifer's mom was a forgiving person, but these kinds of people take no prisoners.

I have been watching CNN,they haven't CONFIRMED that it is him.Although it does seem likely that it is.

I also got this impression from the myspace pages. Balfour and Julia's pages both state married and they still had photos of each other listed. I was very suprised to learn that Balfour has a pregnant gf, I wonder if this may also be a reason for their splitting up? I don't know much about the bio dad aside from the fact that he was there when Julia went on TV to plead for her son's safe return.

You can tell from the pictures just how much that little boy was loved. Looking at the pics of Julian's B day parties is so sad, he didn't deserve this he was an innocent baby It makes me so mad!

I think the time of death is going to be key, and I hope that they can pin point when the car was left.

This is senseless and horrific. It's happening far too frequently and hits every demographic - from celebrities to "unknowns". From the rich or perceived "upper crusts" where families sometimes rush to hide, deny &/or cover up. I instinctively believe that loser mentality (weakness for substance; physical; mental and power abuse) lies behind these atrocities.

Their own emotions belie their actions.... Jealousy, anger, self-morbidity, belligerence, zero motivation and laziness and, of course, revenge - all these things felt by LOSERS (zero self respect or esteem; takers).

Lordi-be! HOW MANY TIMES DOES A PAROLEE GO BESERK AND KILL THE HAND THAT FEEDS, TRUSTS OR LOVES THEM? This is beyond belief.

And again: a child is involved and becomes a victim (not that any of the poor adult victims are any more expendable - but by God - a mom and grandma, an uncle & brother and a son a nephew of 7???? Harmless people. Chilling, horrific, unwarranted and totally unacceptable!) Why is it that the death penalty just looks so good at this point, in my eyes? Sorry, but that's the answer, IMO.

This is so not on. Blessings to the survivors, family, loved ones and indeed lets trust God spared the pain and horror.

This is so sad, I have been watching the updates on this hoping that Julian would be found alive. My prayers go out to the Hudson family.

I get the impression that with all the talk about the vehicle not being there till Sunday that maybe someone else may have dumped the SUV to make it look like the estranged husband was not guilty...

It was a reporter in chicago that they were speaking with on the phone, she said she had spoken with FBI. I only heard it one time and they have not repeated it again, waiting for family to id?
