CHICAGO (CBS) — A 32-year-old woman has been arrested for burning several toddlers with a hot glue gun at a Logan Square daycare center, sources have told CBS 2.

Lizandra Cosme, of the Humboldt Park neighborhood, has been charged with five counts of aggravated battery to a child, related to a Dec. 1 incident at Children’s Learning Place near Fullerton and Kedzie. Police sources said video shows Cosme burning five 2-year-olds with a hot glue gun.

How horrible! I have burned myself several times with a hot glue gun and it is absolutely painful. Poor babies.

Heinous! Worst and most painful burn I've ever had was from a hot glue gun. I cannot fathom what's going on in that worker's mind. I hope the charges against her are more than a misdemeanor!

Thank goodness one of those kids mom's was an ER Physician, and was on to her.

Caught on video. Sick-o. It's beyond cruelty. Two-year old little children. She's lucky she is in jail.

I did a little more digging and found to my dismay that this woman was cleared of the charges! She was fired and is complaining she can't find a job, but as far as I can determine, she is not currently in jail.

Heaven help any kids out there that fall under her supervision in the future.

16 two year olds between two people? that's a shockingly bad ratio, even if that's legal. In contrast, here the legal ratio is 1:5 at that age and there'd have been 4 educators in the room at all times for 16. Here the centre would have been fined a large amount for breaching ratio, and potentially ordered to make immediate improvements or be shut down; never even mind what the employees had done.

Also yeah, of course you can't get work? What a vulgar individual. Same goes for the other adult who didn't intervene, just as bad.
