Investigators announced that they have solved the 1984 homicide of Gary Sheppelman. In February of 1984, Sheppelman's body was found inside Schenk's Tavern, where he worked as a bartender. He died from numerous injuries inflicted by a sharp weapon and a blunt weapon. After two years of investigation and four grand jury hearings, no new information was found. The case was placed on inactive status in late 1986.

After recently reviewing the case, a witness came forward and said that Aaron Patrick was responsible for the murder. Patrick died in 1992 but if he was still alive, he would be charged with the killing. No one else is expected to be charged and the case is now closed.
