The coroner is seeking the community's help in identifying a man who was found floating face down in Lake Michigan along the shoreline of a beach in Highland Park Friday evening.

Circumstances of Discovery​

Lake County Forest Preserves Chief Ron Davis said officers responded to the shoreline after receiving calls for a possible body in the water. The body was seen floating face down in the water by bystanders. Banek said examination results indicate the man’s death is consistent with drowning. The man is believed to have been down at the beach swimming prior to his death. His shoes, socks, baseball cap, and glasses were at the end of the trail that goes to the beach area.
