This excerpt from a larger 2001 article (Daily Ledger, Sat, Feb 03, 2001 ·Page 1) indicates she was last seen on December 25, 1979 (not Jan 1, 1980) and was not reported missing until May 15, 1980. Additionally states a blood stain was found in the kitchen.
