I apologize for only seeing this now. I haven't stated any facts, only my opinions and observations. If you over her Facebook profile and other online profiles, it will become clear she is associated with some people who are undoubtedly gang-affiliated, and where she hangs out, what her local persona is, and other factors that could spur conflict. I work with victims of gang violence, so see things unconciously, but if you look at things like the slang used, tattoos, common factors in dress style or color, groups she or her friends belong to and so on, then look at the gang maps for this area, you can get a good picture.

Gulley's friend Joanna Wright has been missing since December 2016. Her family is still hopeful she's alive. She was also last seen near the house. Her relatives are trying to remain optimistic that she is alive somewhere. But they've heard almost nothing from police about their investigation.

"And then to find out that it's also two other people who are also her friends had disappeared as well, it's shocking," said Valencia Harrison, Wright's sister.

Marlo Gulley, 26, and two other people who turned up missing after last being seen at or near the home in the 6300-block of South Rockwell Street is missing.

The third person to turn up missing from the neighborhood was located in July 2016. Shante Bohanan's body was found stuffed into a garbage can in a garage on the Far South Side. The autopsy was inconclusive but her death was clearly a homicide. She was 20. Eleven days before Bohanan's body was discovered she witnessed a friend killed right in front of her. Her family speculated that may have played a part in her death. Police have refused to speculate about any motivation and will not confirm if the three cases are connected.

Now, detectives have turned to missing person reports for leads. While authorities were investigating at the scene, crisis responder Dawn Valenti stopped to see if the remains belonged to one of two people missing from a south side Chicago neighborhood.
Dawn Valenti: “One has been missing for ten months, the other has been missing for about a week now. But the fact that there are two people actively missing that I know about especially Joanna Wright. It’s been ten months. And then to hear this. It could be just a coincidence, you know? But it brought me out here because I want to know.”

The Cook County medical examiner is now investigating the victim’s cause of death.

She has tattoos covering her arms and hands, including the name "Londa" in script below two rainbow-striped Venus symbols, the name "Joseph", red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple stars, the word "D-UNIT", a rose, and swirls. She also has "MARY 1936-2009" tattooed on the center of her upper chest, just below her collarbone. Photos of Wright's tattoos are posted with this case summary.

Details of Disappearance​

Wright was last seen in the 6400 block of Washtenaw, between Talman Avenue and Rockwell Avenue, in the Marquette Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois at 1:45 p.m. on December 18, 2016. She was abducted by three to four unidentified men. Wright screamed for help and tried to fight the men off, but the men forced into a newer model blue Mazda with Ohio license plates and drove away.

Curiously, Wright's friend Marlo "Chris" Gulley, who disappeared less than a year after she did, was last seen near the same place Wright disappeared from. A 20-year-old woman Shante Bohanan, also disappeared from the neighborhood in July 2016 and was found murdered. Her homicide, and Gulley's disappearance, are unsolved, and it's unclear whether any of the cases are connected.

Wright worked as a hairstylist at the time of her disappearance, and was active in the local LGBT community. She had grown up in Marquette Park and was well-known and well-liked in the area. Her case remains unsolved.
