The news article said the shooting happened after two men "exchanged words". Katie didn't work here then, she had only been hired a month ago. Highly unlikely it's related.

After barely a month on the job of tending bar, Kearns vanished, and her disappearance happened under highly suspicious circumstances. Yet despite her disappearance, Wednesday was business as usual inside Woody's Bar. An afternoon bartender was busy pouring draft beers for his regular patrons. The manager was holed up inside a separate office room, behind a closed wooden door.

Woody's has made a concerted effort this week to not be proactive in helping the family find their missing bartender. For instance, there were no missing person's posters displayed on the doors of Woody's to alert patrons to her disappearance.

A spokesman for the family of Katie Kearns said that his family also received cold shoulder treatment from the establishment that attracts members of the Joliet Outlaws motorcycle gang.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Joliet Patch Editor went into the bar and identified his purpose for being there, looking for information surrounding their employee's disappearance. The bartender went into a back room and got a middle-aged woman, the manager. She quickly escorted Patch outside. "She was last seen headed east on Washington," the woman snapped. Here in the parking lot, Joliet Patch sought to ask more questions. The woman confirmed Kearns had only worked "four shifts." Before quickly retreating back inside Woody's, the woman remarked, "We wish for her safe return."

A spokesman for Katie Kearns' family told Joliet Patch it's his understanding that police have interviewed at least one member of the Joliet Outlaws who frequents Woody's, and that man was cooperative.

The family spokesman raised a number of questions that turn the attention back to the very last place that Kearns was known to be, Woody's Bar. First off, why did Woody's choose to hire her in October, given that she has no previous experience as a bartender? Where was the job advertised and by whom? How did she land the job?

The search for a missing Mokena woman has come to a tragic end. The Will County Sheriff’s Office is announcing that Kaitlyn Kearns, age 24, of Mokena has been found. After an overnight search by Sheriff’s detectives, Kaitlyn’s 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee was located in a rural area of Kankakee County. Kaitlyn was discovered deceased at the scene.

If LE knows she was the intended victim then they must at least have a clear motive and maybe a suspect. Hope we see an arrest soon.

Lt. Dan Jungles of the Will County Sheriff's Office said deputies executed a search warrant on the clubhouse to further the investigation. He said the warrant is connected with Kearns' disappearance and death.

Deputies are talking with a person of interest, he said. They're also talking with the Will County State's Attorney's Office concerning potential charges.

I am curious if the charger was towed this morning. If so, then it means most likely the car was either left there or it belongs to someone who works at the bar during the day. Because would the bar even be open at 9:30 in the morning ?

I am curious if the charger was towed this morning. If so, then it means most likely the car was either left there or it belongs to someone who works at the bar during the day. Because would the bar even be open at 9:30 in the morning ?

It was the Outlaw clubhouse that was raided and the car towed from, not the bar, though, if I understand correctly... Sorry if I am missing something.

Something bad went down, no doubt. Sad for those who knew and loved Katie. No one deserves this.

That is my understanding also: It was not the bar where Katie worked that was raided, but rather the Outlaws clubhouse.
