IMO possible suspects are the spouse. Maybe a current BF(We don't know if she has one). Neighbor in condo on Roscue, Neighbor on Tetterhall or someone husband has cheated out of money in the past.

All of those are possible. I would include persons whom she worked with.

I've been told she hadn't been at that job for a while. Being HR obviously it's dangerous if you have to let someone go but she hadn't been there long. Even at that they probably wouldn't know where she lived at.

I don't believe it was a car jacking either. If it's a carjacking your going to keep the nice brand new 2012 car rather than ditch it. It's not like anyone could have reported it stolen that quickly.

But we also don't know if anything was missing. I had my car broken into and just my cd player and cd's stolen 3x in the area. Last time it was just taken on a joyride and left.

In this case I happen to think the "Occam's razor" principle applies. With all we know about the husband and his character flaws (understatement) it sure makes him the most likely suspect.

The car being found in that location seems like a big clue. I would speculate that the perp lives in that general area where the car was dumped and was able to walk home from that point.

I do not think it was a carjacking either.

iirc, the road the car was abandoned on was on a dead end road but not at the end of the road but where that road connected with another road...

obispo & ventura iirc...is this a heavily traveled area?

The car was found here
Obispo Road and Ventura Boulevard, machesney park, il - Google Maps

Updated with home, last reported shopping and where the car was found.

If you look at the second link in my post above the location of the Smith home on 8239 Tetterhall to Obiso where her car was found would be 3.3 miles and just over an hour walking.

(snipped from the rockrivertimes.com article)
According to court documents, Todd Smith, who used to go by Todd Raprager, was convicted of arson in 1985 at the age of 17 after attempting to set his family’s home on fire with his parents and brother inside. The home was destroyed, but no one was hurt in the incident. Smith served 30 months of probation and was required to get a drug evaluation. Also, according to a State of Illinois Secretary of State Securities Department file, Smith was accused in October 2011 of allegedly bilking elderly people out of millions of dollars.

In TV media reports, Smith’s husband said his wife was house sitting in Roscoe, but that they were happily married.
However, Deputy Chief Dominic Iasparro said Smith was separated from her husband and living in another location in Roscoe.
“I can’t make any comments about what the husband is saying,” he said.

and what about the 3 daughters biological mother? Where/who is she? Was she married to TS?

I appreciate the 'perspective' on the '85 fire and how the house is gone, but the family survived...sounds like there may be even more to that....but, with the '11 business bilking, the scattered evidence, and the contradiction concerning housesitting/separated...TS is clealy a target.

By not commenting, the Deputy Chief is saying a lot, if you know what I mean.

Okay .. just read the whole thread. Wow. It just seems so ... "been there before" or "not again" ... to me.

Young woman missing, last seen by hubby, conflicting stories of the state of their relationship, shady past ... *sigh*

I'm also curious where the girls' mother is and how he came to get custody .. (assuming he has/had custody) ..

I'm not optimistic about the outcome .. or TS's future as a free man ...

imo

officially im on the fence..BUT in regard to the fire, statements to the police from ts, mom & dad are in the findacase link above...which he says that he did it and why...so if there was something else going on that is really unfortunate for ts now...i wonder what prompted the name change and why? moo
