IL IL - Kierra Coles, 27, pregnant, Chicago, 2 Oct 2018

  • #221
Sorry to keep posting, but I saw back on page one of this thread a video in which Kierra’s mom confirms Kierra called in sick and talked to someone who recognized her voice. So she didn’t use the automated system even though that is the designated procedure for calling off work. The link from the USPS website, which I will paste below, says an employee must use the automated system. Not preferred or recommended, but required to use the automated system to report an absence. The more I ponder this the stranger it gets.

https://link.usps.com/2018/02/14/sick-call/

The rule is you must use the automated system but I worked in a small office and just called my boss. I was the first clerk in so another clerk would have to come in and replace me to open the doors and get the mail ready for the carriers to take out for delivery.

People that I know will use the automated system and will put that they will be out for three days even if they are calling out for for sniffles. The reason for this is: If you took a day out, feel somewhat better and go back on the second day, but on the third day your sniffles are now the flu or pneumonia you call in again. Its no longer one absence, its two. The post office doesn't like absences and if you have too many in a quarter you can get written up for it.

I'm wondering if she called in for three days and felt better. She would then call her supervisor and let them know she could come in.

I haven't had time to read everything but keep seeing people here saying her boyfriend was married. Is this true or is this just a theory someone has?

I sure hope she is found soon.

I am retired USPS and this is true. Also, if you are even a minute late it counts as an occurrence. As you said, you are only allowed so many occurrences a quarter, so most people would just go ahead and call in if they realized they were going to be late since you would get docked for it anyway.

I would think it was someone she was in a relationship that she left with. Either the BF or another guy. It was someone she trusted that she left with. The person knew the angles/areas of the camera spot and avoided being seen.

Still nothing? :(

Some of my questions are:
Do we know who the last person was who she spoke with/saw?
Had Kierra been having a difficult pregnancy?
Were there any financial struggles that she was having?
What impression do family, friends and co-workers have about her baby's father?

I am so wishing for a Verified Insider on this case.

This case has been very concerning to me because I initially suspected something was off here. I hope she is found soon.

It was originally reported by Kierra's mom that she had taken Mon and Tues off, and then called in for Wednesday. Would this have been considered two incidences?

Post where I initially read this, which indicates the information was provided from Kierra's mom in an interview: IL - Kierra Coles, 27, pregnant, Chicago, 2 Oct 2018

that would make since why she called in and not used the automated system.

I live in Chicago. The local CBS station reported her family stated she is 3 months pregnant and was excited to have her first baby. The area she disappeared from is rife with gang violence, but the fact that her purse was left in the parked car makes me think she met up with someone she knew. Pregnant Postal Worker Missing For A Week
I know they say her purse was in her car- does anyone know if her keys were also in her car? Did she put her stuff in the car then go back into her house to get one last thing, and maybe surprise someone or get into an altercation with someone?

I really wish more info would come out. I hate when some cases get all the attention and others not much.

I won't link it but if you go to the FB page for K.C. unfiltered theories and discussions there is a video fairly recently posted that shows a LOT more of her walking than the clip 95% of the news channels have shown. It shows her walking towards the upper left corner of the screen and a black SUV with unusual rims drives past her wherein she immediately turns around and walks away. I hope LE is looking closer at it though.

I wonder if someone double parked next to her car and blocked it in temporarily.

I just watched a video, a news report, that said her purse and phone were in the car, her wallet and keys were not.
