IL IL - Kierra Coles, 27, pregnant, Chicago, 2 Oct 2018

  • #441
I will probably have to come back and edit my post to address all of the quotes due to time.
Just wanted to put out there with all the talk of the appointment (happy to have some comments to scroll through) that in an interview I watched yesterday from MSM when Kierra went missing a friend said it was a WIC Appt. That is plausible. I would have to dig the vid up to link it, if I even know how.
Anywho, WIC has evening appointments for moms in Kierra's situation. Working, so busy during the day, but still qualifies due to income and are available to be seen in the PM.

It is real, SOME people do not go places alone. Interviews, appointments, etc.. especially younger people. Speaking from experience.

IMO I do not feel that is Keirra in the vid. Her legs look long. And the walk of that woman would be noticeable by ppl familiar w her, if KC does not walk like that, it is a clear giveaway. And I like the Postal Inspectors eye. They have them all over the facility. I'm sure they compared the footage.

I don’t know how to include the information you included before your response, sorry.

The first link you referenced says “her boyfriend “ in words and in the video Karen (Kierra’s mom) says Kierra’s boyfriend. I might be missing it, but where does it say anywhere in that article or video that Karen’s boyfriend was a suspect?

A WIC appointment, makes sense. And not weird at all that she would have one or more people go with her. I see it happen all the time, most everywhere I go, and I know many people who hate to go places alone.

WIC requirements
•must meet income requirements
•state resident
•at nutritional risk

Two major types of nutritional risk are recognized for WIC eligibility:
  • Medically-based risks (designated as "high priority") such as anemia, underweight, maternal age, history of pregnancy complications, or poor pregnancy outcomes.
  • Diet-based risks such as inadequate dietary pattern.
Kierra would have to make less than $22,311 annually to meet the income requirements.

I have no idea if Kierra was a permanent employee or not, but my brother in law worked for the post office for almost 17 years before he was hired on as a permanent employee. This was in 2015 and he was making less than $17 per hour.

Do we know if she delivered mail, sorted mail, worked as a clerk, etc.?

Was she a permanent carrier or different position?
I believe the carrier position is around 30k.

This is along the lines of what I was thinking.

RSBM for focus

The article below is the only one I can find that claims Karen/Kierra’s mom’s boyfriend was a suspect:

“There have been rumors that Perkins was involved in her disappearance, but Phillips said she doesn't believe he had anything to do with it.
Scary New Details About The Pregnant Woman Who Hasn't Been Seen In Three Weeks — And Why Police Now Suspect Foul Play

So I clicked on the link in the first paragraph to read the cited article. It says:

“Karen (Phillips) also addressed the rumor that her boyfriend killed Kierra, she said, ‘I don’t think he is involved.”
Kierra Coles’ Mother Addresses Rumors That Boyfriend Is Involved In Her Disappearance

And then the article goes on to say, “Her [Kierra’s] sister, Keshia Phillips [not Karen, as the Your Tango article erroneously reports], who was also in the studio said, ‘We’re not singling anybody out. We know he is going to be a suspect, but as far as people putting his mother, his kids — all that stuff up there — that’s just not right. We’re not asking nobody to do that, that’s not the type of help that we’re looking for.’”

Based on the above, the author of the Your Tango misunderstood what the article s/he him/herself refers to as the source of information states.

The rumor Karen addressed during her interview with WGCI 107.5 Radio is the one that Kierra’s boyfriend killed her, IMO. This is evident not only from what her sister, Keshia is quoted as saying, but actually from what is being reported by the sources the Your Tango article cites as well.

Bottom line: At least as far as rumors go (I add that caveat only because we know so very little about what the investigators think happened Kierra; personally, I am not suspicious of Karen’s boyfriend, Mr. Perkins, at all), the one that has been suspected of being involved in her disappearance is Kierra’s boyfriend, not Karen’s, IMO.

I have been thinking about the statement made by
US Postal Inspection Service’s public information representative, Julie Kenney:

There's other postal employees that live on that block, so the postal inspection service does not believe that is Kierra Coles on that video.” (BBM)
Mysterious Disappearance Of Pregnant Postal Worker Lingers, With Few Clues For Family And Investigators

Is she implying that there was a case of mistaken identity: that the woman in the video has been determined as one of the other postal employees who live on the block?

It does seem strange how the woman in the video makes an abrupt turn. But is it possible she remembered she’d forgotten to grab something that morning and simply turned around to head back home?

Say, Kierra was harmed by someone soon after the appointment on October 2nd. It would make sense that the perpetrator would call Kierra in sick, so that her co-workers wouldn’t start wondering where she was (if the perpetrator was a male, he could have had a female pretend to be Kierra calling herself in). And if that’s what happened here, it wouldn’t make sense for the perpetrator (or a female accomplice) to make it appear as though she was on her way work that morning.

In any case, personally, I really don’t think it’s Kierra in the video.

I can't believe there is no sign of her yet. Praying for her family and loved ones.

Great post. Sounds very logical to me.

Very stressful with no news at all about the investigation to find her!

Is there a FB page for her?

Thanks! I was hoping the family had one for her.

And the other thing I wondered (and don't know if it was mentioned), but have they definitively confirmed that is HER car in the video also that she also got into if they think it wasn't her in the video?

Kierra's sister comments on some of the pages. So does her father.
I've seen it on the 2nd link. She posts as Boonie Bud. I have not seen anything substantial about finding Kierra on any pages... just accusations and of course the family resentment that's always on facebook... not to mention the drama from people who don't know. Facebook pages are pretty much unhelpful, unless you want to know the dirt.

Thanks! I was hoping the family had one for her.

Two thoughts.....

If it has been determined it is not Kierra in the video, why hasn't LE confirmed that? Clearly, if there are other postal workers on that block wouldn't the actual person/mis-identified person contact the authorities and say something like, 'that was me on the video televised by the media', or something along those lines?

It would be interesting to know the timeline with regards to when the alleged married bf planned his move out of IL. Iow, what came first, the decision to move out of IL -or- the pregnancy?

And, if she is a Lyft driver, that throws a whole other possibility....

No one here is giving up, and we all know it can take time to build a case, etc. I know others are skeptical that LE is making any headway but I refuse to think that. Answers will come, but it may take a long time, sadly... I hope her family is finding ways to celebrate Kierra this season, and am confident they will learn what happened...

This reminds me of Michelle Parker’s disappearance. Ex-Boyfriend MOVES TO ANOTHER STATE and THE CASE GOES COLD.

I don't know where I missed that the bf moved. Where did he move to and when, do we know?

I am pretty sure that there is a POI. And I don't think that there is a positive outcome here.
