Burbs-take heart...statistics show that the majority of abused children do not grow up to be abusers. Granted, those that do learned their behavior somewhere, of course.

This baby is two years old-I dont this we need to throw in the towel on her as long as life with bio dad does not include the same kind of deprivation she experienced here.

For me, I would love to see what causes a custodial parent to choose their partner over their child. We are not wired that way biologically speaking....maybe we are evolving in that direction but I find it hard to believe simply because our genetic code is still imprinted with the need to procreate and protect our young while they are vulnerable. JMO.

Hey grant writers out there-lets do a study on this...because until we hit the root causes, our best defense is departments like DCF etc. And in this case, they screwed up. No getting around it. So they have to review where their own system failed.

i feel like a broken record her, but please stop assaulting victims cause they are victims.....most abusers never experiencd being abused themselves, and many children that are abused never go on to abuse.

I agree, why should he not be charged with murder when he did so much to try and kill this innocent girl and it's only because of the care she got her life was saved!

I don't think it's any secret how I feel about mothers and their live in boyfriends etc. If I had my way when a single mother wants to shack up with some guy she has to chose then, have her children or have her thang. If she choses her thang then we know she would have chosen the man over her child if they were all in the same house together.

even better that she is eating solids on her own now without the feeding tube....what an incredibly strong brave girl

i just wish they had made it clear that the piece of garbage who beat her is not allowed in the same state as her.....and i hope 'mom' lost custody of her other kids

The best part about all of this is she won't remember any of this. And now with her daddy raising her, hopefully she will grow up loved and safe and only beautiful memories to look back on.

Well I was more so talking about the act itself, which was probably painful as hell. I'm sure she will be told about it someday, but that she won't remember all the pain she endured, for THAT I am thankful.

You know Jamie, that's really true. When I was six I was badly attacked by a vicious German Shepard. Spent time in the hospital getting patched up and getting tons of shots. I don't remember any of the pain just the act and how nice everyone was to me afterwards.
