You know Jamie, that's really true. When I was six I was badly attacked by a vicious German Shepard. Spent time in the hospital getting patched up and getting tons of shots. I don't remember any of the pain just the act and how nice everyone was to me afterwards.

I am so glad you don't remember, as I am sure it was awful. I was abused by my dad for years, and unfortunatly I remember every second of it. I wish abuse in any form against any age wouldn't happen. But when the victim doesn't remember the pain, it is a teeny tiny gift for the victim.

its incredible that 3 weeks ago she was on a breathing machine (besides the feeding tube) and is now out of the hospital all together

Amanda Runyon's mother is asking a St. Clair County judge to return custody of the 2-year-old to her and remove the order of protection against her.

Dawn Obptande has her first supervised visit with Amanda on Sunday at Amanda's paternal grandparents' home in Marissa.

On Thursday, Obptande's attorney, Jennifer Behme of the Blake & Allen law firm in Belleville, filed several court documents on behalf of Obptande. Obptande is seeking custody of Amanda, asking for the order of protection to be vacated, requesting a guardian ad litem be appointed to Amanda and asking that a trust fund be established for money donated to help pay for Amanda's hospital expenses.

she didnt realize that her house was a pig sty, that there were drugs all over the place, or that mandy was beaten for 4 days straight. we'll i guess if she was on a 4 day bender that might all be possible.......

Does anyone here remember little Alan Madden? I'm originally from the small city that he lived in. Neither one of his parents wanted to take responsibility for having custody of him and beat him repeatedly. DCFS intervened, repeatedly, but returned him. He was beaten to death over a period of hours a few feet from where his young sister sat watching television.

No one in the boy's extended family would claim his body, the funeral costs were paid for by donations. 13 years later, an officer who had worked the case came to my school around the time of the prom to lecture on drunk driving, etc. Somehow the Madden case came up and the officer started crying.

My cousin's daughter was also beaten to death by her step-father.

I have no no no... compassion for these types of people. It's a non-negotiable ZT Policy. They can line up next to my baby cousin's step-father in that "very special place".

No, I am sorry but too bad. She had her chance to be a mother and be what this child needed. i hold her just as responsible as i do her boyfriend. She really does not even deserve supervised visits to be honest with you.

ive seen way too many of these cases where they give her back......there was a case in new york where the girl was beaten by mother and was put into foster care. she was basically adopted by a prince from saudi arabia or something (not officially, but he looked after her financially and stuff) and the court decided suddenly mom was 'better' and gave her back. mom, of course, tortured and beat the girl to death while the neighbors stood by and did nothing cause mom said she was giving the girl an 'excorcisim'. arghhhhhhhhhhhh

some very intresting comments on that link saying they know where the moms heart really lies.......the money for the trust fund set up for amanda. i seriously wouldnt doubt it. maybe she gave up custody so willingly cause she figured no one gave a damn about amanda.....then was shocked to find out more the only one who doesnt care about her is herself.

also say she lost custody of her two other kids. i guess there's no trust fund for them, hence why she doesnt want them back.
