No, no, no, and...H&LL NO! Good job, judge.

ive seen way too many of these cases where they give her back......there was a case in new york where the girl was beaten by mother and was put into foster care. she was basically adopted by a prince from saudi arabia or something (not officially, but he looked after her financially and stuff) and the court decided suddenly mom was 'better' and gave her back. mom, of course, tortured and beat the girl to death while the neighbors stood by and did nothing cause mom said she was giving the girl an 'excorcisim'. arghhhhhhhhhhhh

please god dont let this happen to mandy

bolded by me.

I think you are referring to the child abuse case of Nixzmary Brown, one of the worst ever seen in NYC. Disgusting crazy "parents" ! I think they were too stupid to realize that she was bright and promising, so they tortured her to death.

Can we remove their bowels and intestines and put them on feeding tubes for the rest of their lives? It would be too good for them.

---------------------My thoughts exactly!! Let him live without ever eating again!!! The dumb sob.

my links dont work when i try to send them but i found some intresting stuff during a google search, that i dont think has been put here yet.

last july, dawn brought amanda to her dads house, filthy, with no diaper and told him 'here i cant take care of her anymore.' then she came back a few days later and demandad he give her back (does she think amanda is a dvd she can rent and return?) he refused. she called the cops. the dcfs did an investigation, in which they discovered dawn was living WITH A REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER. (her brother) despite this, the dcfs agent decided 'THERE IS NO DANGER TO THE CHILD' and eddie was forced to return amanda.

also saw a pic of dawn in the elevator today, hiding her face from the cameras. what a pathetic miserable little woman she is.

Just finished reading this thread...OMG - The incredible NERVE of the egg donor. Too bad she didn't have this huge set of coj*nes when it came to her daughter's well being...It is OBVIOUS all she wanted was the $$$$$

I am SO glad that, for once, the judge ruled correctly. Hope the protective order is also upheld.

God bless Amanda, her daddy, and his fam!!!

I'm glad that the Judge didn't give in into the "mother's" wishes. Let me get this straight: She chooses boyfriend over daughter, lives in a filthy home, her boyfriend beats her daughter, almost causing her to die instantly, the "mother" neglects her daughter, & she has the nerve to want custody of her daughter back? Hell no!

I would've done the same thing that the Judge did. He did the right thing.

Both the stepfather and mother were convicted of manslaughter.

You're right--the case you were referring to was Elisa Izquierdo, in 1995. I remember because I was so affected by the article in this issue of Time Magazine, especially the part about the middle eastern prince trying to help her...http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,983842,00.html
Editing to say that the part about the middle eastern prince was unique and made me remember the case--it wasn't what affected me most about it.

I just want to let her attorney know that bringing up the money?...not a good call.

manslaughter? :furious: that infers they essentially agree with step daddy.....that she had it coming.

yes, eliza's case is the one im referring to. :(

and i see some of the same things here, worthless drug addict mom who let her boyfriend beat her daughter, gives up rights/wants them back. im disgusted.

i pray the judge never changes his mind.....

I didn't understand the manslaughter charge, either.

It's so much of the same thing we see over and over again, too many times, right here. It is disgusting!

Our local CBS station kmov.com is doing a follow-up interview with Amanda & her father either tomorrow of Thursday. The video clip they showed of her was beautiful! She looks healthy and happy.

omg omg omg. I couldn't finish reading because the first two articles upset me so bad. I think I need to go to sleep after this, it's too much for my brain. Stories like this make me want to hold my daughter and hug her tightly and tell her how much I love her and always will!! How I wish every mother could/would!!

Amanda's story will be on kmov tonight at 10 p.m. ... I would expect they will have the video on kmov.com after it airs. The promos have me in tears to see just how normal and healed she seems pushing her dollies in a carriage and feeding them bottles. Bless her little heart.

I am so very, very glad that Amanda is doing so well and playing with her toys. That is how it should be, but too often isn't. I hope the rest of her childhood is smooth sailing and lots of fun.

i know why the frowny face was attached when this first appeared but now it appears it shouldnt be anymore.

this is the rare case that turns out well.

bless amanda and her dad.

not to change topic too much, but i just have to say that sweet little Nixmary Brown has stuck with me so much...they released so much information about what happened to her and i will never forget that they said her last words were her calling for her mommy from her room and no one ever came. the thought of her suffering will haunt me forever. and the injustice of her parents sentences just pizzes me off.
