GUILTY IL - Kraig Monroe for child abuse, Belleville, 2010

Amanda's story will be on kmov tonight at 10 p.m. ... I would expect they will have the video on kmov.com after it airs. The promos have me in tears to see just how normal and healed she seems pushing her dollies in a carriage and feeding them bottles. Bless her little heart.

AWESOME! I'm so glad she is okay and playing. As adorable as she is in the hospital photos, it was so painful to look at them because out of like 17 pics, she's not smiling in a single one (quite understandably)...just looked so haunted and sad...it broke my heart.

from another site i visit where amanda's grandmother posts a couple of times, she states that monroe wants a speedy trial and it might start june second.

he's also looking for reduced bail. pffttttttttt

from amanda's grandmom again..

monroe's bail was reduced from 500,000 to 300,000.

the judge's reasoning? 'high bail cause we thought she would die.' what? so amanada is getting punished for living? and apperently monroe has some low life friends who have raised the money (drug sales?) to bail him out, and some idiot from a construction company is gonna give him a job. aint that grand?

too bad the criminal judge doesnt have as much sensee as the judge from amanda's custody case :(

trial is set for june 2nd. with a moronic comment from the judge like that, im guessing this jerk is gonna get a slap on the wrist.

Family of young girl nearly beaten to death wants swifter justice

Kraig Monroe, 24, is facing a felony charge for Aggravated Battery of a Child. Monroe has had numerous court appearances, but Monroe is free on bond while awaiting trial. Pam Runyon has attended all of his hearings and is growing impatient with delays.

"The status is still the same. Status just means he's out, and free to live his life, and Amanda's life is ever-changed," she said.

The state's attorney did not return News 4's calls.

This guy still isn't in jail. :(

I think he is very lucky to be able to walk around the community with no fear of retaliation. I will never ever in all my born days understand this case and why this kind of mayhem doesnt result in no bond.

May God bless you beautiful baby girl. So glad she has physically recovered, sounds like she has a ways to go, the Runyons sound like good people to help her pull through.

I hope someday soon they can tell her the 'bad man went away'. For a very long time. And hey while they're at it it's long past time to slap some charges on the birth vessel :furious:

O HE77 to the no!

I am in central IL and this is the FIRST I have heard of this case. I cannot believe I did not see this in the threads til just now. I am just sickened. Every single person in this child's life at the time let her down. This man is still walking around? Like today?

I should stop now. I am burning!

It would be nice if that <modsnip> walked in front of an 18 wheeler on his way back to court.

I know what I would do to this guy if I got near him.

I keep reading about states cutting budgets for social services & agencies that monitor sex offenders.

Things are about to get way worse, I fear, in terms of the number of abuse, neglect & murder of children that we hear about...My stomach aches & my head hurts.

Bless the beasts and the children, for in this world they have no choice.
They have no voice.

ETA: here's an example - state of Iowa

I know this is an old case but felt compelled to comment a little bit. I work at a play therapy office, int he past 10 days my boss as a mandatory reporter has reported 3 separate families to our DHS system. They switched to a central intake for the whole state. It's at each intake workers discretion which cases are investigated and which are not it is also based upon some loose minimum guidelines. EVERY SINGLE TIME my boss was told that if they decided to investigate she'd be called back and they were get more information and then she'd have to fill out paperwork being a mandatory reporter as well. They NEVER called back. My boss called them, each time was told there was not enough evidence to pursue. Our system is soo broken, i doubt it can ever be fixed. My boss not NOT make many reports, i've only seen her make 2 before these more recent ones..... I just don't understand and neither does she. They basically told her, unless there is pysically evidence of sexual abuse they cannot do anything.. well guess what.. sexual abuse is exposing small children to 🤬🤬🤬🤬 against their will, and that happened.. but still they refuse to follow up, told her to call back when something more concrete can be shared.. like when the child is molested????

On a positive note sometimes the mother's actually DO get charged for failing to protect their children

The Gma had to have the reserve of a saint to walk so closely to that man out of the courtroom. I'm afraid, I'd be looking at jail time if I was her. Sorry to say but maybe he'll be attacked and his bowels will need extracted...and the far reaching liver. Bad I know....but that poor child. Not enough time....and they didn't even take him into custody after the sentencing. Hard to understand.

Prayer for Amanda :please: May she continue to heal and reach all her dreams.
