On FreeRepublic they are saying he is making a full confession.

"What they're saying is the little girl was grounded as a punishment and wasn't supposed to be out. He went out to find her, killed her, and the friend as she was a witness."

That sick MFer... killed her because she went out and was grounded? What's FreeRepublic? He's probably confessing to cop a plea agreement knowing Death Penalty is imminent.

More detail on evidence tomorrow after bond hearing.

They were at the park and he came looking for them and murdered them probably as they were running from him back through the woods. Early evening hours! not midnight!

I don't see a clear motive here. Why kill BOTH girls? Was it just wrong place wrong time for the other girl?

The only thing I can come up with is that he may have been sexually
molesting his daughter and she told her friend...and they planned to tell.

Any thoughts on motive?

I don't know exactly how they define 1st degree murder in Ill. but most states define it as murder by poison, lying in wait, torture, murder done wilfully, deliberately, and with premeditation, or murder that results from a death occurring in the commission of a dangerous felony.

FOX NEWS LE Press Conference. The father was out looking for the girl, and he came upon them and killed them.

I just saw a photo of the father, Mr. Hobbs. He is one scary-looking Dude! I feel sorry for a young girl being forced to live under such circumstances. What was he doing living there anyway? Was the mother trying to reconcile?

The girls were riding ONE bike.

The father went looking for them. When he found them, he killed them. I suppose the friend was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

So this is what we have come to now.... a young child resists her grounding and spends the day hanging out with her best friend -- probably terrified to go home -- and so her father goes out and hunts them both down, beats them and stabs them to death... Unbelievable! What hole in Hell did that poor excuse for a human being crawl out from?

Probably the same one I wish my ex would crawl back into.....

She was probably grounded so I guess he went looking for them (they were on one bike) saw them at the park and went after them, found them and killed them in the early evening hours (not midnight). The DA hinted that there was some dispute with Laura's mother. There will be more details after the bond hearing tomorrow morning.
So I'm thinking that the lights that the neighbor saw in the park was him maybe killing them? jmo

Laura had been grounded for stealing money. Her mother let her off her grounding one day early. Her father was *upset* she was out playing and went to find her. Punched/hit Laura then Krystal.

Unbelievable! I stayed away from the news for a couple hours and now this. On cnn.com, Gott oh Gott, he looks mean! Those poor girls, imagine to be killed by your own father and then the friend, who can't imagining this is happening. So tragic! Who does "the system" keep people like this out? Didn't this guy have problems in his past? He completely fell through the cracks. And the mother, what was going through her head?

I don't wholeheartedly agree with the death penalty, except in cases like this. Sick 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. What could possibly make you so mentally ill that you kill a child?

And another thing, maybe I'm wrong, but does the guy look like he isn't "right?" Like he looks like he had fetal alcohol syndrome, or something? His eyes look funny and the way his face is, is he slightly, you know....I don't want to offend anyone. But he looks like there is (and always was) something wrong with him. Not just mean, something else. Or am I imagining it?
