CARBONDALE – The Carbondale Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in locating a missing person. Linell Gaston, 27 of Carbondale, was last seen in the 1200 block of South Wall Street on March 25th, 2024. Gaston is described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a muscular build, brown eyes, a goatee, and a bald head. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans with rips. He has tattoos on his arms and chest. Gaston has a condition that could place him in danger. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Carbondale Police Department at the numbers listed below. The investigation is active and ongoing.

Carbondale, IL – Authorities are urgently seeking the public’s help to locate Linell Gaston, 27, described as an endangered missing person.

According to the Illinois State Police, acting on a request from the Carbondale Police Department, an advisory has been issued following Gaston’s disappearance.
 

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) --- A Carbondale mom says her son would never be gone for several days without giving her a call. Now, she's sounding the alarm.

Linell’s Grandmother Ginger Rye-Sanders says, she last spoke with him on the 25th after going to church with him.

“I called him the next day. It was time for us to go and work out and he said he wasn't feeling well, he didn't want to go,” Rye-Sanders said.

Gaston's family says Linell was in the Navy and suffers from PTSD.

And she's not alone, his Aunt Ebonee Crymes says his children miss him too.

“He would call and check on his kids. That's just his normal behavior,” Crymes says. “He has always, and I mean always taken care of his kids.”

 
Linell was found deceased today. So sad for his mother and family.

Authorities were out searching for 27-year-old Linell Gaston on Thursday in the area of the 1200-block of South Wall Street in Carbondale. Police in Carbondale, along with other agencies were out searching, via foot, vehicle and helicopter.

Carbondale Police Department stated Linell Gaston was found deceased.
