The man accused of a grisly hit-and-run that killed a Matteson man, severing his legs, likely will face more serious charges, including reckless homicide, his attorney said Wednesday.

Marcus Hampton, 26, allegedly ran down 60-year-old Michael Cranston, known as "Walking Mike," near Vollmer Road and Keystone Avenue about 9 p.m. Oct. 12. The force of the impact propelled Cranston through the windshield of the Oldsmobile Alero, police said.
