Michael Donahoe 67-year-old Marine Corps Veteran has not been seen or heard from in 2 months if anyone has any information regarding his whereabouts and well-being, please text call or email Sergio Correa 1-312-383-0924 email [email protected], or [email protected]

He works at the Hines VA in Hines, IL on the south side. Unfortunately this is all the info I have.

@NarcWahlberg - thanks for sharing - I wasn't able to find ANY reports of him missing (I'm a retired fed who lives in Chicago) though I recall seeing his name on the FB Chicago Veteran's group when he was trying to organize a ride for a discharged 98 year old Vet last year. Good man to do that!

To keep a thread active the opening post must have a link to a mainstream media report, LE report or NamUS report to verify the person is indeed missing. If you have something please share it, otherwise the thread may be deactivated by a mod.

Same here. It's like no one filed a report. But I do have a friend that knows him & confirmed he's missing.

Thanks - I just wanted to let you know that without a formal report the thread may be deleted. I understand the need for the rule - you don't want someone that doesn't want to be found (i.e. domestic violence victim, someone waiting to testify against someone in a trial who doesn't qualify for formal witness protection, etc.) have someone do a post and say "so and so is missing, can you help me find him/her? without any formal missing report and then have someone unwittingly share personal info that might put them at risk. I get it.

I know that's not your intent - you've been here a while -you're the drone person if I remember
but that's why it's set up this way. Thanks for caring about Michael. He really tried to help a lot of Vets through the VA here in Chicago.

I know the location of the VA center he works at - I used to drive by it regularly when I was commuting to a field office near O'Hare and wanted to avoid Mainheim northbound. It's a quiet area, just north of the zoo and Cermak. Where he was last seen appears to be about a mile and a half east of Midway Airport. A working class neighborhood, it does have some crime, but it's not a high risk area, though I tend to avoid the area around Midway after dark if driving my own vehicle. Did he live there? I know my dental hygienist and one of my doctor's nurses lives in that area, it's easy to get from there north on 50 to the hospitals and 290 to go East/West. 3300 W 61st St · 3300 W 61st St, Chicago, IL 60629

No, not really close at all, definately not within walking distance. I was thinking her perhaps lived down that way, I know a number of people who do as the homes are less expensive than just north a few miles (likely due to the noise from Midway).

I attached a snip of the area map and marked the general location of the VA facility with a red star (upper left corner of the map just below the Loyola Hospital red symbol) and the Google map balloon at the location of where he was last seen, just east of Midway airport (bottom right quadrant of the map). My "mapping' skills are about 3rd grade level but I think you can get an idea of the distance.

It is pretty safe there, in the neighborhood of Maywood. Not a lot of drama in the area. I wonder if he took the bus, to the El station?

I actually lived at Hines VA one summer for an internship, lots of student housing there, for all types of medical students doing rotations.

The area right around the VA is just fine, going further north, and deeper into Maywood crime has been increasing the last few years. If I had to drive home from my office late (well after dark) from east of O'Hare, I'd take Mainheim, and NOT First. Once you get south of the high school though it improves quickly. The big LE station just north of 290 interchange keeps that area pretty quiet.

Given where Michael was last seen though, I doubt he would have had a need to go north.

Does anyone know if he had a vehicle? Or if where he was seen is where he lived?

There's NO new information about him out there. Not where he lives, what he drives, only the geographic area (street, not a particular home) where he was seen. A few comments on his missing information on FB from people that know him, no new information, but all positive things to say about Michael.

Yeah it is a weird situation. Nothing out there on him, but people know him. Not sure about family????
