Details of Disappearance​

Aker was last seen in Rantoul, Illinois on August 10, 2011. He left his home on Division Avenue in Urbana, Illinois to visit friends in Rantoul and get a tattoo, and was last seen there. His friends left without him at 11:00 p.m. Aker planned to travel to Indianapolis via Chicago. He has never been heard from again.

Aker owns no cellular phone, and at the time of his disappearance he was carrying only a small amount of money and no extra clothes. Few details are available in his case. Urbana police are investigating.

Montel has not spoken with friends or family since August 10, 2011. No leads have been obtained regarding his whereabouts. Montel has a tattoo on his left arm and may have obtained a tattoo on his chest prior to his disappearance. Crimestoppers and Urbana Police investigators are requesting any information you may have about Montel or his whereabouts.

Officials said family and friends of Montel Aker last had contact with him on Aug. 13, 2011. His family said it is very unusual for him to not have contact with them, even for a short period of time. At the time he disappeared, he was staying with family friends in Urbana.

Investigators determined that on the day he went missing, Aker was planning to get a tattoo at a home tattoo parlor in Rantoul. He also told family that he was going to visit friends in the area of “Falcon Way” or “Pheasant Ridge” in Rantoul but was never heard from after that.
