Stella must be around 11 yrs. old. I sure hope things have calmed down for her in her life. I hope she feels some stable & security now. We all cared so much for Stella. I feel we deserve an update to ease our minds. (It's like we're virtual relatives.) Does HM write her from prison? I wonder if TS will get to see her before he gets charged in the US. They had it easier in Bali than I ever expected.​

An American convicted of killing the mother of his then-pregnant teenage girlfriend at an Indonesian luxury hotel was deported Tuesday after his early release from prison, immigration authorities said.

Tommy Schaefer, the man who in 2014 allegedly beat to death Sheila von Wiese-Mack in Bali as part of a plot with her daughter Heather Mack to gain access to a $1.5 million trust fund, has been returned to the U.S. and is in federal custody.

Schaefer was deported back to the United States from Bali International Airport on Tuesday evening after spending 11 years in prison there following his conviction in von Wiese-Mack’s murder, said Felucia Sengky Ratna, head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, in a statement.

He has now been returned to Chicago and taken into federal custody, according to a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, where he’ll face federal charges of conspiracy to kill someone in a foreign country, conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with a victim.

Schaefer, 32, is scheduled to make an initial appearance on those counts in a Chicago courtroom Thursday morning.

For those asking about Bibbs, it appears he is in a re entry facility (RRM)? He was scheduled for release in May of this year. Is this how it works when people get close to release?

2/17/26 Update: Tommy Schaefer walked out of Kerobokan Prison at around 12pm Bali time on Tuesday after serving 12 years of an 18-year sentence for the brutal 2014 murder, which his then-girlfriend Heather helped plan. He was immediately handed over to immigration officials for deportation to Chicago. Once he arrives back to the US, he is expected to be detained on charges of conspiracy to kill a US national while overseas & tampering with evidence. Kerobokan Prison Governor Hudi Ismono confirmed Schaefer's release on Tuesday, saying: 'Today, Tommy Schaefer is released & we have handed over him to the Immigration. 'For foreign prisoners, the release should involve the Immigration for deportation process.' Ismono said that Schaefer had spent at least 12 years in prison of an 18 year sentence and had received a total of 75 months and 120 days in sentence cuts during his incarceration due to good behaviour. Schaefer can expect to be arrested by federal authorities after he steps off his plane at O’Hare Airport in the next day or two. He will most likely be held at the downtown Metropolitan Correctional Center.
