As far as I remember, the cousin seemed willing to allow Kia some visitation with her own granddaughter. If not, the cousin certainly should allow it. KW has made a lot of effort, and gone through great lengths, to be there for her granddaughter. MOO​

It's not just my opinion. The judge has determined who is the best guardian/custody for Stella. And Stella doesn't want a relationship with her mother knowing what's she's done, can't imagine why she'd want one with her father given he committed the same acts. <modsnip>

Well, in another twist Kia’s TikTok account popped up on my feed. She is saying that LH is not allowing her contact with Stella, that she has arrest records in 17 counties, that she is emotionally and physically abusive to Stella, and that Stella is sharing a basement room with a 23 yo man. If this is true I’m soo sad for Stella, it’s never ending for her.

She also posted a convo she had w HM where she openly admits that she wasn’t hiding in the bathroom & covered Sheila’s mouth. She posted a lot more too but I haven’t gone thru everything.

We know SVWM old friend Diana has plenty of it & was given temporary custody despite not knowing Stella at all, while the court apparently claimed Stella didn’t know KW despite having years of proof of a relationship with her. I think it’s definitely worth hearing her out

Then KW needs to provide some proof of her unsubstantiated allegations. Going on Tik Tok and venting her feelings is not supplying proof.

I really feel bad for KW and her obvious pain at losing her son and never getting the chance to see or raise her granddaughter. I do understand how she feels that money and power are responsible for the latter since she was financially unable to get representation for herself during the custody hearings, but I do wish she had made more of an effort to endear herself to Sheila’s family rather than fight them. She must have known that if HM and Stella ever returned to the US, there would be custody issues and she would want to be seen in the most sympathetic light. I don’t think she accomplished that and has actually made the situation worse for herself because of her accusations. The court must have had reason to believe that placing Stella with her was not in their best interests.

That being said, I really do hope that something can be worked out for her to at least be able to have online visits with her Granddaughter if Stella wants to continue their relationship. I understand that she has recently been told of the reason for her parents incarceration and that she has expressed her desire to not have any relationship with either of them. What we haven’t seen is whether that extends to her paternal grandmother.

I don’t believe “Aunt Diana” was given temporary custody although she was able to visit with Stella at least once while she was in the custody of VF when HM was first arrested.

I do believe that KW had some online contact with Stella over the years through OS and HM but her behaviour and accusations in court, without adequate proof, are likely the reason she is not in contact with Stella now. She needed to approach all this in a much more mature and reasonable manner IMO. It is very unfortunate that she couldn’t find pro bono representation to help her navigate the court system. Irrational behaviour and groundless accusations in court didn’t make her seem to be a good candidate for custody I’m sure. As the judge indicated, none of this was about her and her inability to get proper representation, it was about Stella and who would be the most stable placement candidate.

She is currently Prisoner number 72776-509, held in the Chicago Metropolitan Detention Center awaiting transfer to a permanent prison home.

While Mack has finally showed penitence, no one in the family can be sure that it's real with Wiese still convinced she's as much of a 'monster' today as she was as a teenage killer, and hopes she gets mental health treatment in prison.

I find it hard to believe that HM was a victim of abuse considering what we know of her previous stay at Kerobokan but I guess we’ll have to see how the trial for this former guard goes.

It appears she has finally been transferred to a federal prison in WV.

TS got 18 years in 2015 though. I believe he’s had some time shaved off but woukd it be as much as 7 years? I actually don’t know why they are bothering to continue to hold him when they could just release and deport him knowing that he’s going to be arrested on arrival to the US.

Schaefer acknowledged his part in von Wiese’s brutal murder in 2014, but called his federal indictment for conspiracy to murder von Wiese “vengeful.” He also reiterated his contention that he never meant to kill her until a heated argument took place in her hotel room. Schaefer has already had four years and two months shaved off his sentence, and in August he will receive another six-month reduction.” With effectively 18 months off his sentence annually, Schaefer can expect release as early as April of 2026 & possibly earlier.

Thanks Niner. I figured if HM got about 30 percent shaved off her sentence, maybe TS would get the same. That would have him serve about 12-13 years. Perhaps he will do even better. Not that it matters since he’ll just return to prison when he is deported back to the US.
