I live in the region myself and wondered why she stayed at a hotel, because Matherville is not that far from the Quad Cities - about 30 miles from the town to the college.

It would be less expensive to just get an apartment, unless she was doing something she thought she needed a hotel room for, if you get my drift. I just don't feel good about this.

Perhaps she was seeing someone and that was their chance to spend alone time together. Or she wasn’t a morning person and had to be at class very early.

Was she close to graduating, scheduled for a practice exam?

Reading into her history on her social media it is easy to see she had mental health struggles. But sometimes it’s sad to me how that is the first thing we (including myself here) think of. It’s also true she may have had others want to harm her.

I’m really curious about one thing and I’m going to go ahead and share it. She posted something to TikTok in September. I don’t know if she was trying to imply this was truth based on the caption which says “based on true events”. taegan.renee on TikTok

The main roads to Matherville are pretty rural & surrounded by fields. However, the corn has already been harvested so a car off the side of the road would be very visible to anyone driving past as it's very flat and not a lot of wooded areas right off the road there. Not sure where she lives in relation to the school but a lot of people in Matherville live off gravel roads so I'm sure the area to search is pretty vast. I am local and am shocked I have not seen anything w/ regards to planned searches. Also, I found it odd that it wasn't front & center on our local news last night. It was on their websites, but I didn't notice it mentioned on the channel I watched during the actual news. So many questions.

• In August, she said she had a drinking problem.
• She has attempted suicide multiple times and has a tattoo that says "My story isn't over" over cuts on her arm.
• Her grandma died in April and it's been very rough for her.
• She seems to have dated some guys that have really hurt her feelings
• She is incredibly close with her little sister.

I feel so bad for her. She's only 20 years old and I hope she knows her life is just starting... I'm only a few years older but 20 was real rough for me too.

Frantic search for Illinois cosmetology student, 20, last seen dropping offer her little sister at school

Twenty-year-old Taegan Renee Randolph has gone missing from the town of Matherville, Illinois, Crime Online reports.

Taegan Renee Randolph officially went missing on Saturday.

But the cosmetology student was last seen on Friday.

That was when Taegan Renee Randolph dropped her little sister off at school in Matherville — leaving the girl to miss her big sister in her absence.

BUT I have seen that her hair is actually blonde and the dyed black hair pics on Twitter was a wig.

In September of this year on TikTok, she posted a video saying if you're family's not broken, you're lucky. This poor girl felt isolated, for whatever reasons. I agree, 20 is a hard age, and COVID's taken a toll on many people's mental health.

Can't see how staying in a hotel fits in. Does she normally live at home with family, but periodically stayed in a hotel? Those are usually weekly rates and not desirable places to live.

I ran the plate number through one of those free VIN lookup websites. Public records show that the color was Dark Cherry when listed and sold in 2015. It was then listed as White and Pearl White in 2018.

If "Wild Orchid Purple" is accurate, it's definitely a third-party aftermarket repaint.

It's hard to see all that in print, wish we could all scoop her up and bring her to safety. You mention her Grandma, what about her Mom? Is she in Taegan's life?
