You can really get a sense from reading the article that he was not very good with money. This would prove to be fatal for Lisa, who was employed as a hostess at his restaurant (I gleaned this from the other Washington Post article, referenced in my original post). That was how they met. If you read the entirety of the other article, Lisa did not actually "need" to work, as the father of her children wired her $5,000 a month for her living expenses. Gregory, on the other hand... Well...
