After watching the video, grandpa was pointing to his neck as if the stick entered at that part of willows body. Only way I've ever heard of dire injuries to the neck is due to blood loss. Still sounds noisy. Any neighbors around?

Wouldn't even take the noise to grow concern. There would be a scene on that stack of sticks, I am pretty sure of that. No one noticed a scene in/on/near the stack of sticks in the front of the house?

Just really bizarre, but what do I know? I heard a case where LE didn't search a garage well enough because it was dirty, and a poor child was there, in a box, the entire time.

Can we please have one story and stick to it? Why did the 3 year old cry out for his sister and point to the door? Is this the true story? And why would willow be outside running around the house without her glasses? Somebody is giving us hogwash!

Most likely the mom was out partying (normal for her age) and he didn't have time to realize that by defending his son for being on the straight and narrow, he was throwing the other kids under the bus in a way. He really needs a spokesperson. Anyway, what do we all think now about mom not making any media appearances during the search...including how the Saturday/Sunday timeline is now conflicted?

Honeslty, I don't see it as him throwing his other kids under the bus. The other kids aren't charged with murder. I think he was just being truthful. If you lined up all of his kids and asked him which one would be the least likely to be in trouble, he would have picked this one. As a parent of children with wildly divergent "personalities," I think I understand that. I have a "wild child." I don't hesitate to acknowledge it, even when she's found herself in trouble. If my other child got in trouble, I would be surprised it was him and not her and I might blurt that out. jmo

Interview with Grandpa. States accident occurred at night, while JD was baby-sitting and mom was out. The 3 year old was asleep. Son panicked, handled the situation poorly (obviously).

I thought the Mom got up Sunday morning and saw Willow, then went back to bed. How could this accident have happened when the Uncle was babysitting on Saturday night? The Mom saw her Sunday.

Grandpa should have kept quiet for the time being, IMO.

This question comes up a lot in other cases. I always think that if I were ever in that situation, I don't know that I personally would choose to appear on camera myself unless I absolutely had to, but that's just me (I would probably have to be laid up and drugged in the hospital). Of course, I would understand the value of publicity, and of course try to stay strong for my kid, but if the media aspect was already covered, I may choose to be out on foot searching, for example, focusing on other aspects I might view at that time to be the most helpful.

BTW, Lucy, I wanted to submit a :floorlaugh: for your earlier comment in thread 1 re: the suspiciousness of your kids putting anything in the washing machine. :biggrin:

I agree. I should have put "under the bus" in quotes. Someone else used the term and that was why I responded with it. I, too, have very different kids and totally agree with you. I just think GPA is tired and saying something like how his son has never been in trouble has the intended consequence of the world thinking the other kids are wild...LOL.

Possible, but she specifically said she got into an argument with her and told what she was wearing (purple shirt).

I kept thinking maybe GPA had his days messed up, but he said it happened at "night", so I am inclined to believe that it did happen Saturday night while the uncle was babysitting. Would explain why mom didn't hear anything and wake up.

Great post and I agree. I have one of those wild children and the other one ended up in trouble. I'd never have thought it would work out that way.

Maybe mom was out partying. Willow was screaming for mom and was hysterical. 22 year old tries and quiets her any way possible. A child screaming could be VERY frustrating to an immature young man. At 22, he is coming into an age that verbal communication is important and taken for granted. If Willow was hysterical, I could see him taken to far and be thrown into a blunt force trauma. That's the best case scenario I could come up with.

Well....For crying out loud. Do they know how hard it is to impale yourself with a stick? Calling BS on that one.

Have seen it happen. Even have the photos (morbid maybe, but the child wanted to see what it looked like) One boy pushed the other and he fell on a pile of branches with a twig going into the back of his head. It went up on an angle and snapped off . There was a little bit of blood down the back of the neck but when removed at the doctors the blood flowed out. Accidents like this do happen...that's why we have doctors :twocents:

Any remaining children in the home should be removed immediately, as they are in danger even if the uncle is in jail! It is never ok to put a human out of their misery, at least not like that!

I agree with you about CPS removing other children from the home.
Something's nauseatingly wrong here....The story about Willow acting out the movie, the toddler pointing to the door, a pile of sticks, glasses left in the house and possibly 2 stories told about when WILLOW was last seen by her mommy.

I know it wasn't your term And I didn't mean anything by using it, either. I just think, in general, he wasn't so much maligning his other children as expressing his shock and disappointment that this particular one of his children had ruined his life so thoroughly. Must be just devastating. I have much sympathy for the grandpa at this point.
