Well that might be more of a semantical argument sometime that morning she was not there.

Reporter: she saw her in the morning

Attorney: These are the facts, what you have is what we think we can present (doesnt' sound like he wants to go "there" about mom right now)

Five million dollar bond set for Justin DeRyke. Three charges first degree murder. Willow Long was found in a series of garbage bags submerged in a small body of water South of Watson. She was stabbed multiple times. Her throat slit and multiple cuts on her arm.

I thought he might be a sociopath. But now I'm wondering if maybe he's a psychopath. It's almost like he killed her because he thought she was evil or something. And I wonder if there was ever a search of the river. It seems like that would be an obvious place to search. So many bodies are found in water. Thank goodness the four volunteers spotted her.

They say that it's rare for them to hand over the probable cause statement to the media. They did so to clear up the rumors.

Reporters aren't giving up on the Mom, and no one is going to answer the questions. They keep dodging them, saying they're only commenting on facts.

I finally got one to play. My guess is they have not stated what they thought came first the stick in the neck or the stab. Im sure they can figure it out. I really hope what happened in real life is not what is going through my mind. ( He stabs her and then decides to fake accident with stick).

Okay, she was found in a "series of plastic garbage bags". What does a "series" mean???

Multiple stab wounds - that indicates that she fought back. It also indicates that he straight up attacked her.

Maybe she did run out the front door and into the woods.....trying to get away from her attacker.

Lord have mercy on that baby girl.

The investigation didn't start as a criminal investigation. Started as a missing child case.

(Could explain why there was no clearing certain areas of the home?)

This websleuths site, I like it, but I feel like if I say what I'm really thinking I'm going to have a billion people jump all over me...not a good feeling.

I am new and I feel this way too. Not one person has welcomed me or aknowleged me. But..I remind myself these are heavy hearted cases and emotions can run high (and rumors!) When a new story (for lack of better word) happens in a new town, I know a lot of new people show up. I am one, as every person posting here was at one time. There is a lot of explaining the rules and learning to agree to disagree. As well as suspicion of who you "really" are(you never know who is here lurking). So I overlook it and throw in my 2cents when I want to, lol I am hoping with post numbers and experience I will earn some friends. =-)

He may have resented being the babysitter. Knowing my daughter, as far as her child is concerned, when she makes up her mind to go out she goes out whether I have agreed to babysit or not and there have been times she hasn't come home for days. CPS was consulted and they said the child's mother did nothing wrong!

I was not involved in any initial investigation.

She was initially interviewed on Sunday morning do you believe that she mislead you?

You have to realize that that morning we had no idea we had it would turn into a homicide. All I want to know is where is your daughter. All I know is that she walked away from that residence

(Reporters are still questioning mom's statements to investigators about watching a movie- investigators are dodging answering)

poor little willow no wonder her baby brother was to traumatize to speak.

Are people hearing this about how they are unsure of the mothers first story, or a recant of the story?

Have they confirmed if Willow was killed Saturday night or Sunday morning? That's the biggest thing that makes no sense to me. If he killed her Sunday morning, stabbing her and wrapping her in bags seems like it would be not only time consuming but messy AND noisy. How could he pull that off with his sister (Willow's mother) in the house. Multiple stab wounds? Cuts to her arms? I hope little Willow put up a fight!

Poor Willow. I was hoping it was going to be an accident but from the sound of it this was no accident.
