She did NOT paint him in a good light in either of her 2 appearances.
She did nothing at all to help him.
She loved him, he loved her, they got married
That's it.
That is not a 'good light' that is a collection of facts, not speculation.
And she did actually come off as unsympathetic to him.

She did not utter a single syllable to save him from DP.
Nobody has except his nursery teacher..and that won't go far
We all know babies are not born to kill, except in horror movies.

Voluntary hospitalization discussed for Christensen before killing

Dec 2016, she wanted an open marriage, March 2017, she wanted a divorce, Jun 2017 he kills Ying Ying. Do the dates tie in to his depression and downward spiral at all? He had no friends in Champaign it seems.

Then they made a hell of a mistake bringing her back, and I don't know why they would bother to do it in either phase.... unless they are trying to play the "the threat of divorce made him do it!!!" card, to replace the "it was the rum! the rum made him do it!!!!" card which never flew, because he didn't get drunk on the morning of the 9th

therein lies the mystery, eh?

edit to respond to your edited comment.
More than likely all they got left is his mother's rum,not his and certainly not Michelle's.
#BACKFIRED.
She could have tried lying when prosecution cross examined her, she did not.
I hope this helps her to live with herself in some kind of peace and to recognise all the ways he used and manipulated her over the years...
Quite a lot of good evidence was disallowed due to marital privilege, like the famous jail letter he sent her... contents of which were never disclosed.
Like most of the information she gave the police willingly when they first interviewed her.

It was his lawyers that spent the year 'helping her' to back out of her signed permission to search.
If people saw Michelle as a victim rather than a co-conspirator, with no evidence at all to back that up, perhaps the focus would return to BC and his nasty games.
He's still playing them, he never took his eyes off her today.

On her last appearance he smiled and played the same tactic, it was reported she never looked at him once...

I think you have to keep in mind that the Defense just has to get one juror to say ‘no’ to the DP… they’re throwing everything up against the wall hoping that something may stick and move one juror… I suspect MZ wasn’t keen on testifying at all (and having to face Prosecution questions), so the Defense had to subpoena her for their purposes.
They’re saying BC was once a good, normal, even promising student and loving husband, who took a sudden spiral (and failed to get the help he needed), but not the sort of lifelong repeated monster deserving the DP — that seems to be their argument and they’re fishing for that one juror.

THIS sounds like the safest bet..........

this, eh!!! #MichelleDoesn'tLoveMeAnymore

Brendt Christensen asks to leave the courtroom because of a migraine. The judge honors his request, but says he will tell the jury Christensen’s “not feeling well” instead of going into detail. Christensen is excused for the remainder of court today. @WCIA

Defense calls 4th witness to the stand: Tom Miebach, a clinical counselor and triage case counselor. Miebach says BC indicated in March 2017 that he had “passive” thoughts of suicide and hadn’t had any other more recent thoughts. @WCIA3

Miebach said BC had told another UI counselor he had bought things for the “transport and disposal of a body.” (!!!!)

Miebach said BC wouldn’t say what the items were, and re-iterated that he never made plans to do anything with them. Defense argues that buying the items is making a plan. Miebach disagrees.
(another of their witnesses has just gone against them!!!)

Ben
Court resumed without Christensen, who is having severe migraines today. Was rubbing his head this morning. (1/9 ( take a pill, why doncha?)

Judge asked him if he was ok with court proceeding without him or would prefer a break. "I'd rather leave the courtroom, I suppose," he said. Judge agreed to this. (2/9) (girl gone type)

Told jury Christensen isn't feeling well and to not let this sway them either way. (3/9)

Tom Miebach, a UI counselor, then testified. He met with Christensen to assess his homicidal thoughts 3/30/17 (4/9)

Said Christensen referred to his thoughts as fantasies and didn't have a specific victim in mind. Said he had returned the stuff he'd bought to transport a body. (5/9)

Said Christensen expressed hopefulness at this meeting and thought he was getting better, hadn't drank alcohol in a month. (6/

Said he asked him multiple times if planned harm to anyone and "he always said no" (7/9)

"We treat our students as adults," he said. (8/9)

Besides referring to Rosecrance, set a follow up mtg in April 6 that never happened. But he apparently did show up to fill out a form and had scores of 0 for homicidal and suicidal thoughts, the lowest risk possible (9/9)

(there goes the civil case too, down the drain)

more about hostile witnesses being forced to testify, unwillingly.
Though Michelle was not named in this motion from Prosecution today, it can be said to apply to her too.

Seriously, at this stage I'm wondering whether defense can be charged with co-conspiracy or after-the -fact

LIVE: Christensen sentencing phase, Day 5
migraines have intensified.. wonder if they are from rage?
He lost her today.
And he has nobody else to manipulate , except his family, estranged

Possibly rage bottled up. He knows he's lost her and if she hadn't been subpoenaed he probably wouldn't have seen her again.

The constant eye on her when she's on the stand is him keeping her under control. Well, it didn't work Brendt, you've blown it this time.

his head will burst open tonight if we're right about this...
no migraines for YingYing....
Control deprivation will hit him harder than a death sentence...

Am I misstating or misremembering the following facts:

-MZ testified that is was she who asked BC in April to sharpen the knives in the house thereby at least attempting to provide an alibi for why there were searches where found on his computer about how to sharpen knives. (Incidentally, the search occurred less than 24 hours after he had engaged in a detailed online discussion of following women , breaking-in their house, and raping them)

-Law enforcement testified and reported on more than one occasion that MZ refused to put clothes on when officers asked to do so when executing the search warrant thereby intentionally or unintentionally providing BC time to think and/or obstructing the way of a search in the house. LE reported this multiple times.

- Per court testimony BC requested that MZ scrub his online presence through a jailhouse phone call and in fact his Fetlife, OK Cupid , and other profiles were in fact deleted thereby making her an accessory after that fact for concealing potentially incriminatory evidence of BC's guilt.

- MZ attempted to contact TB to shut her up as instructed by BC per TB's testimony (although TB ignored MZ's phone calls)

- MZ testified that it was she who filled the gas tank of the car that weekend thereby providing a alibi for why an unemployed, broke man had a full tank of gas that specific weekend to drive over 200 miles

- She testified not for the prosecution but for the defense

Are any of these facts wrong?

Those who suspect MZ of being more involved that she claims are not going to agree with your view of MZ as a victim of BC's control, Kitty. And that's OK but please let's agree to the fact that neither view has a set of complete facts to support these opinions. A claim of love is a perception at best and a lie at worse, but it is not fact. The only thing that supports the view of Michelle as a victim is a personal hunch as is a suspicion of her being a conspirator or worse.

Let's agree to disagree until more facts come to light.

It must be hitting home by now that he is on his own. He's estranged from his family. Father says he loves him but there hasn't been much evidence of that as there's been little or no contact. TB has left the picture and MZ is living with her mother making a new life for herself.

"Boohoo, I'm all alone, my head hurts, I haven't got a phone to get online to chat to get a friend. Oh woe is me, sob sob."

quite a few of those are incorrect, actually.
She not only testified she filled it, but prosecution presented evidence to that effect.. see exhibits.
That is not an alibi. She bought petrol. Half of it was gone when she returned. She didn't use it.

There is no evidence that Michelle cobntacted TB to 'shut Tb up' , only that he asked her to.
There is evidence that Michelle attempted contact with TB, but as that contact was never made, it is sheer speculation . She may have wanted TB to help save him, it's possible, but it's not factual.

AS far as I know, the only thing she scrubbed was a comment on his Reddit ac , a comment he made on the uIC police post about the missing girl. His comment was 'how bundy-esque'
You will find that exhibit in exhibits list too.
Putting clothes on or taking them off, or freezing when 7, no less, police officers entered that tiny apartment is not evidence of anything except freezing. She made no attempt to stop the search nad in fact signed consent to let it go ahead. She was extremely helpful to the police and spoke with them for hours. She also told them it was within the realms of possibility that he did indeed kill YingYing.

The knife sharpening conversation took place many months before they were used to possibly hack a woman to pieces. It is not evidence that she helped him or was co-conspirator.

Prosecutor: Death penalty warranted in scholar's killing

“There will be no burial. There will be no closure,” he told the jury that last month found Christensen guilty. “You will see the anguish.”

@Webthrush
The 30-year-old Christensen could testify during the hearing that is expected to last several days. If he does, one big question is whether he will reveal what he did with Zhang’s body, which has never been found, as part of an effort to convince jurors to spare his life and sentence him instead to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

I imagine that's speculative.
His testimony will be insincere because he is drugged and a habitual liar.
Anything he chooses to say, if he speaks will be merely in an effort to save his own 🤬🤬🤬.
If he does not testify it will be because his defense believes tha above too and he is insincere.
Murdereers don't have sincerity is my opinion.

Does she visit him in jail? Will she visit him after the trial? See the picture in the last link I posted (copy above) - it is not in jail but looks like she is meeting with him and the defence lawyer perhaps.
