How would they have gotten back in to get it set up in his apartment, without him knowing?

I just noticed your question. I will review the timeline and respond more appropriately later, but off the top of my head, I would think, perhaps, with a warrant, the other occupant of the apartment could have let LE in. I don't know all that much about wiretapping, but LE may not have needed to get inside his apt.

However, in light of info from most recent hearing, LE may not have tapped his phone. :dunno:
