We discussed this a bit toward the end of....I think thread 3 if you care to review. Nothing was really revealed except that a handful of us are also fearful of garbage disposals and that I am also apprehensive about windmills. I dislike having stuff in common with BC, blech...
Can I ask please a little about the nature of the fear?

I have obsessive compulsive tendencies, manifesting via morbid and unwanted thoughts. A garbage disposal can create instant irreparable damage with the flip of a switch. A switch that is always right next to a harmless light switch.. Ugh...

I don't run away screaming or anything, but I have horrid thoughts every time I use or hear one.

Thanks for answering that question, I did not mean to be invasive. Also living in a different country where they are just lorries with a lift that take stuff somewhere.
I am a homeopath so I think off centre more often than not.

Oh, we have regular garbage removal here as well. The garbage disposal in the kitchen sink is more of a luxury item used to grind up kitchen scraps.

I don't mind sharing. :-)

Thats refreshing mrsobrien. Am trawling.. found nothing abnormal. found family stuff in an article...
everything is kosher,
A human did this.
didn't find anything weird or exciting.and because its so normal.. my hope she is alive is quickly extinguishing,
BUT, i did notice quite a few complaints about Asian girls being targeted.. its reddit gossip mostly.. hard to see wood from trees there.. but seemed legit.. wondering, long-shot if theres a reason for that.. a collective reason she may have been targeted..something organised.. pure idiotic speculation.
world is weird when a deranged psychopath may offer more hope for life preserved than a commoner gardener kidnapper..
BUT, if it is any kind of an organised crime.. she could be alive?

I go back-and-forth trying to decide if this was a (relatively) sudden impulsive crime, or one planned out thoughtfully over a lengthy period — I can’t decide (though I know others already have strong opinions about it). Anyway, tried to compile a few key dates in BC’s recent life, in case it gives anyone ideas (and there are plenty more possible dates one might fill in to this list, especially regarding his joining or leaving various internet sites or other activities):

Spring (I think?) 2016: he tells advisor he’s decided not to complete the physics PhD. program
May 6, 2016: buys a black Camaro (...don't know when they acquired the Astra, before or after?)
Oct. 13, 2016: changes his Facebook cover photo to the Uzumaki horror manga comic picture that remains on it.
April 12, 2017: his last entry on Facebook
April 19, 2017: his last day (so far as I understand) posting on Fetlife
May 13, 2017: he graduates from U of I with Masters degree (does not post a photo on FB, though he did earlier post a photo for his Bachelors graduation from Wisconsin)
June 9: kidnaps YY

You can add some Fetlife activity to that, as well as Steam (which goes right up to his arrest), and his appearance at the march.

THANKS, and by Fetlife "activity" do you mean he posted beyond April 19, or just checked into the site, or something else? And do you know when he FIRST registered or posted both to the site in general and specifically the "abduction" thread???

Right, the creation of his profile, and approximate join dates of groups are on page 1.
Eta- dates of his interviews, the seizure of the Astra, and the search of his apartment from the criminal complaint would be cool for timeline too.

l agree. lMO video evidence brought them to the conclusion that she is likely deceased. Uploaded to Fetlife or the dark web maybe.

Definitely not uploaded to fetlife.

Going off of Facebook pictures dates, the Astra predated the Camaro. There is a picture of him in front of what appears to be the Astra from 2012.

This from a reddit source
he's the kid with the long hair
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MLT5xZYVkM&feature=youtu.be
cached copy of his i-Cupid profile which is now apparently removed http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https://www.okcupid.com/profile/WorldsApart689
(I would not have thought of searching Reddit until was mentioned. still trawling)
On the dating site, he says he spent time watching Twitch Streams. What was his Steam username? Perhaps he used the same for Twitch, uploaded video of his gameplay, which might give us a better sense of him?

Remember that when you post on facebook, you can choose your audience. You can make a post/picture public to anyone with internet access, limit it to just facebook friends, or even to just specific people... and then you can get into private groups, etc. I feel internet privacy/security has been an increasing concern over the past handful of years to the point that even people who at one time had all their posts marked as public, may only create new posts visible to facebook friends. So IMO, lack of facebook activity I wouldn't read too much into?

Can anyone think of other sites where he had a profile that may have similar security controls available?

Before the family announced the $50,000 reward for finding her, wouldn't the family have likely consulted with FBI, in particular, to ask FBI why they believed she's no longer alive? Because, earlier there were speculations that the reason might be that the FBI had found her and were conducting test to confirm; now this doesn't seem to be the case any more. The family would offer the reward only if being told that she had not been found at all.

Or even taking a step back, for us old fogies, what is a "twitch stream" please?

"Impeccable academic credentials?" At the elite university I worked for for 17 years he would be considered just another failed graduate student, who probably had issues, and wasted faculty time. (And yes I know he wasn't booted, but quit.) It may have been that his quitting reflected an awareness that he could never conform to a conventional life and career.

Hah hah hah - yes, I agree. Just another failed grad student. When you accept someone into a PhD program, anything short of a PhD is failure. A masters degree is a consolation prize. There are many points to burn out or fail out on the track to an academic career. The PhD stage is pretty much the earliest, you can also flame out at the post-doc phase on the way to a faculty position, or on the way to associate from assistant professor. Terminal masters degree is the lowest rung on the flame-out ladder.
